DAC new or used under 2.5K advice
I am streaming lossless files using an Apple TV2 into the Hegel. Fantastic sound. The Hegel is a great value and it's performance is superior. It has a warm and full sound, but remains crystal clear throughout the frequency range.
The OFFICAL Apple TV thread
I am using the ATV2 to stream Apple Lossless files into my system. I am using an Audioquest toslink into the excellent Hegel HD10 DAC. Works great with my system. Super high resolution, yet warm and natural.
Closest DAC to Vinyl Sound?
The Hegel DAC has a very full, warm sound that allows hours of listening without fatigue. I use it with a very nice tube preamp, BAT, and have been very pleased with the experience.
Apple TV vs Wadia 170i?
I am using a 2nd gen Apple TV outputting via toslink to a Hegel HD 10 DAC. Sounds great! And the convenience of using iPhone or iPad to control is awesome. Highly recommend such a setup.
best $200 blu-ray for streaming Netflix
Jig -- Apple TV 2nd generation. I use it with a wireless N router and the streaming has been flawless.
best $200 blu-ray for streaming Netflix

Signal Direction XLR to RCA? Which way?
Thanks @Wbs. I guess RCA's are always female on the component so interconnects are always male on both ends. I think I'm learning little by little.
Am I nuts or what? Apple TV
@Geared4me I haven't got the system in my house yet, but I do anticipate spending many hours setting up. As it is, I've been several hours every evening reading everything I can find on the different components, cables, music, etc. I am really exc...
New Apple TV -- Anyone planning on it?
Are you using it with a DAC? If so, which one? I am thinking of using either PS Audio III or Cambridge DacMagic.
Comparable product to Logitech Transporter?
I guess the new Apple TV would work as well, plus you can control it with an iPhone or iPad. Apple website says it supports "Apple Lossless, AIFF, and WAV" but not FLAC. I wonder how big a disadvantage that would be.
