DPS/Schroeder Ref. Turntable
I recently purchased the DPS/SchroederDPS combo. The cartridge is the Allaerts MC-1B. The turntable is relatively small compared to other reference tables, however, the sound is big and very dynamic. I have not compared it with the Platine Verdier.
Matching stepup to phono stage
Herman,I kind of figured out what you are saying. The Stepup has 23db of gain. I believe that would calculate into a turns ratio of 13.7. Thus, 13.7 X 13.7 = 188. 47,000 divided by (13.7 X 13.7) = 250. Is this correct? Thanks,Rich
Matching stepup to phono stage
"The impedance presented to your cartridge will be the combination of the 250 ohms of the step-up and the 47Kohms of your phono stage."OK, but how do they interact. How can the "final" impedance be calculated?

John Atkinson's measurements of the MAXX II reveal nearly a +/- 10db differential in frequency response. There is a 6-7db boost in the bass. How many of us would accept these large abberations in our amplifiers, preamps, cd players, or even our ph...
