Terry DeWick has passed
Sad news. I just found out from his website that he passed. Terry was a great guy and a fantastic repair tech. I've sent a few different McIntosh amps to him over the past 20+ years and he would also help me troubleshoot amps I was working on over...
Have you found your "End-Game" speakers yet? I have. And it feels so good!!!
Yes, I found them! A pair of Tannoy Westminster Royals. Gorgeous sounding speakers. Can’t get enough of them. Not so sure how good it feels that I’ve found them as I’ll never be able to afford a pair, but if I could, those would be it!! 😆
Why do so many sellers take offense to offers on their listings?
@jl35 Its amazing the number of sellers you will find that are overly proud of their gear.
Why do so many sellers take offense to offers on their listings?
@bubba12 I have bought and sold items that started with a lowball offer, so yes, that is certainly wrong. The one way to guarantee the death of a transaction is to end communication. As a seller, I don’t need multiple great offers. I just need on...

VTA on the fly
I primarily enjoy vintage tables, and none of the ones I have owned have VTA on the fly. Its one of the features that I wish every table had.  You can get by with padding under the record or shims between the cartridge and headshell, but then ever...
Honest opinions on my two picks of loudspeakers
Heard Revel, but not the Salon 2s.  I've been a fan of McIntosh for years, and have heard the XR100s.  Buy the Salon 2s.
Getting into tubes
Well, I’m going to go against the majority here and say that for smaller speakers with under 90 dB sensitivity, I personally prefer solid-state amps... especially those that are biased heavily into Class A. Great results have been reported for you...
Review: Tube Audio Design Hibachi Monoblocks TAD 125 Amplifier
Thanks for the review. Sounds like you really like these! One concern I would have is your comment that they "have that distinctly tube amp smoothing/rounding of the note edges." No better quality tube amp I have heard has this characteristic (wit...
