I was just reading a related article this morning ...http://homepages.kdsi.net/~sherman/hearingloss.htmYour measurements are "right" -- seems like most post-18th century orchestral pieces are "too loud" (Beethoven and Smetana readily comes to mind).

Brahms and Tchaikovsky
You can try Kleiber's version of Brahms 4th recently reissued under the DG Originals label. The performance is exemplary (my other versions are/were Walter/Sony, Abbado/DG and Bernstein/DG) and makes up for only having 40 minutes of music on a CD....

How Do You Price to Sell Classical LPs?
My 2 cents. As an occasional LP buyer, I see buying LPs as an alternative to music not available on CDs (either out of print or simply not issued), or as a cheaper method of acquiring "new" music.SO ... I would obviously not pay more than USD 10 o...

I'll second the CD skipping issues. I've got a C540 that skips occasionally -- not related to bad CDs, the skips almost cannot be duplicated. Then again I only paid 160 bucks for it new (B-stock) so can't complain. Sonically I don't think it can b...
