Although the USA might not be much better, I have learned NOT to buy from overseas companies. 
Are "vintage" DAC's worthwhile, or is this a tech that does not age well
I have been listening to Theta Casablanca III then IVa ... both with extreme DACS.  I have had recording personnel listen to them as well.  They agree that there is simply no better DAC out there.  New "digital dacs" are difficult to do right.  No... 
I just bought a Steinway which sounds like a banjo.
Not all Steinway's are made alike.   Certainly the company took a dive during WWI and after but Steinway still a reference piano.   I have a Fazioli and a Steinway and love the sound of the Fazioli over the Steinway.   As for sound reproduction......
