Speakers and a fireplace heat?
So the heat in the room if they are 4-5' from the fireplace won't dry out the cones or anything?

well my friend who got me into moving passed a high end consumer system was using some Gallo speakers. and I have really liked them so I ended up buying a pair of 3.1s. he was using a class D amp and I had intended to go tube from the start...but ...

people who buy better outlets better rewire their home and get in touch with the electric company to make sure theiy are using acceptable cable to the house. ....or that stuff is a joke. i would like to hear an a/b test of outlets.

cheap doesnt mean bad. there are too many other factors more important in choosing a component rather than if they use the latest trendy part that people pretend they can/will hear a difference in.

Well I snagged a Pulsus last night on here for a very, very good price. I was fairly set on the Chinook, but this was such a good deal I couldn't pass it up. Now to wait for shipping..... 
How do you know your tubes are beginning to fail?
or it will get micrphonic and you will hear thru the speakers if you tap the unit or knobs.... or the quickest way to tell is if the tube goes and you hear a tornado approaching on a song that doesnt have a tornado in it.

dont waste your money on speaker cables. the only thing that matter is the gauge is thick enough. spend as much as you can afford on circuits and speaker design, but dont buy the snake oil of speaker cables. no one wins double blind tests.

how important are the cap, resistor, and gain settings? it seems odd that at 1500 to 2000 if they add a couple caps or resistors they might as well add the others. gain staging seems a bit more complex.is there any carts i wouldnt be able to get w...
