Elvis - 30 Years Ago Today, RIP
I first saw Elvis on the Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey summer replacement show for Jackie Gleason. It was 1956 and I was ll years old. I laughed so hard watching his gyrations that I almost had an accident. My 7 year old brother did not help either. He w...
Mcintosh 501's with Magnepan 1.6 QR
You did not mention how long you had the 1.6's. If they are "new" or have not broken in yet, the bass is pretty much absent in my experience. I have 1.6's connected to a McIntosh MC300 with 300 wpc. It took a year and a half of what was for me, a ...

I have owned a Maverick since July 2004. It is very erratic. Loud sudden bursts of white noise. Audible electric hum with some discs. Now it refuses to play SACD. Looking at owner reviews AudioReview.com and one classified ad on a-gon demonstrated...
Music Hall Maverick, Is it any good
I have owned a Maverick for about two and half years. It has given me some serious headaches. On about a half-dozen occasions, without warning, the program stopped and the speakers exploded with a loud hissing. Did I say loud? I mean LOUD. I could...
