+1 for the Spendor/Chord combo mentioned above. I was using the Spendor D7 + Chord 2650 and now have the Spendor D9 + Chord 3350. Very neutral, not fatiguing, amazing soundstage, and not fussy about positioning.

@bar81 very true... I've recently learned that there's only so much you can learn from A/B comparisons. At the end of the day you should spend money on what makes you happy.

IMO your turntable is your best component, so I'd vote to upgrade to floorstanders for more presence and a beefier amp to match. Get a used pair of Spendor A6 speakers or go for the KEF R500.BTW I'm actually going to listen to your very turntable/...
