Something wrong with the Studio 100 v.2? Sean,Sure did end up spending more than planned, but that was the price of admission to satisfy my ears. Just had to reconcile that fact with my wallet ;-)Best,Horn
Something wrong with the Studio 100 v.2? Folks,Great feedback and suggestions. Thank you very much. Went back to the B&W dealer to listen to the CDM9NT's and ended up listening the the Nautilus 804's again as well. All I could do was tap my foot and keep smiling as I listened to the ...
Something wrong with the Studio 100 v.2? Folks,Thanks so much for all the thoughtful feedback so far.Mdomnick,Good suggestion to take a pair home, as itÂ’s really the only way to have an "accurate" test. Would have to also borrow an appropriate amp since my current one certainly would not...
Integrated or Separates? Cellorover,Thank you for your reply. Now let's get to the bottom of your statement"You may find that you will need to change your speaker wires too."Are these speaker cables, shall we say, sub-par? I can't justify spending $1,000 on spreaker cable...
Integrated or Separates? S7horton,Thanks for your reply. Do you have any specific models in mind from YBA, Sim Audio or Musical Fidelity? With the feedback so far I'm more encouraged about the integrated option. Regards,
Integrated or Separates? Zonus,I've been told and read of the great synergy between Proac and ARC, but the ARC integrated is only 50 watts. Is that enough to effectively drive the 2.5's at 86db sensitivity? Thanks for the input.
Proac owners......advice please This is great information, but a little disappointing. I'm shopping for speakers and really like the Proac 2.5, but am now concerned about the booming bass issue. It's so hard to get an accurate evaluation in the dealers demo room since everything...
What's the best approach? Jazzdude,Thanks for your thoughts on the "speakers first" methodology. With all the input, lots of listening and mulling it all over, I'm inclined to agree, with one tweak - pursue the speakers and source together. Some might consider this a hybri...
What's the best approach? Matt,Thanks for clarifying ARC...feel kind of dumb. One question, is the ARC-Proac synergy found with the SS amps or tube? I've never had tube amps and really don't want to go there. Thanks for your additional thoughts on source vs. speaker as wel...
What's the best approach? Matt,Good points on going with a single manufacturer. BTW, what are ARC products? As for Naim, it just happened to be what the dealer had driving the Proacs. Not a big Naim fan, in fact, the gear seems rather proprietary and esoteric, although the...
What's the best approach? Thanks for the responses so far! One clarification, I did update the CD player about 4 years ago to a Sony CD/DVD player of medium quality. And, I plan to replace all the components. As for a goal, 2-channel first and foremost, but may expand into ...
Time for a total system upgrade Judit,Thank you for taking the time to read and respond. Your point is well taken. I'm leaving the 2-channel alone for now and focusing on the HT. In retrospect, the post probably had too much information, though the intent was to give readers con... |
