Thanks for the info!  I'll pass it along to my tech guy who is working with one of the A77s.  I think we're fighting the battle of which 0.47uF is going to fail next. When the left most cap on the drive board fails, the capstan motor does not run...

Not yet! Right now I can't figure out how to get the endcaps off a 608zz bearing in order to re-lube it. Looks like they were never intended to be removed.  Maybe the capstan shaft needs to be re-lubed? I recall a warranty repair in 1971 in which...

Thanks atmasphere! Good suggestion! I've thought of that also but didn't know what type/weight of lubricant to use! I assume one can pry out the covers and press lube into the bearing similar to repacking a wheel bearing on my old vintage Porsche!!

Thank you! Essentially, what you are saying is a flat FR is the ultimate goal when adjusting bias and EQ. If FR is flat, don't mess with anything?  cwz

I've already replaced bearings several time over the 50+ years I've had the Revox. My source of replacements may not be the best. If anyone has had good experience acquiring "quiet" bearings, I'd appreciate to know the correct p/n and source. Tha...
