Can you switch out drivers from another company??? Thanks for all your input. It sounds like it would be better to leave things be and eventually upgrade to new speakers.
Ideal Preamp for McCormack DNA225/Paradigm 100 V.2 I'm in the same boat as you, I also have Paradigm Ref. 100's V2. Currently using a B&K 7250 with a Denon 3802. I'm looking for a new 2 channel set up to drive these speakers. My big question is, for these speakers, is it important to have tone...
Good cables for my rear speakers canare quad 4s. This cable is a 4 conductor, 14 guage per conductor. Nice insulation, and @ .70/foot. Check Markertech, the delivery was very fast and packaged well. I called Canare and spoke to a great lady who sent me some sample peices of cable...

Rotel RCD-1070 I don't have experience with this model, but I saw an article for the new Rotel RCD 1072. I believe the difference is an upgraded DAC. The price was pretty much the same. Good Luck, Chris.
Best drink while listening to your rig? Any good RED wines.
B&W 7NT vs. Paradigm reference 80 for plinius mkII Another vote for Paradigm. I'm running studio 100's and they are fantastic. When auditioning speakers, I listened to B&W quite a bit but when I compared them back to back, The Paradigms shined. I felt the studio 60's kept up with the B&W 6...
I am currently looking to buy a multi amp I'm not sure if this helps, but I'm running a B&K 7250 with Paradigm studio 100's. The sound is rich and full but I feel it's a little to soft for my taste. I'm also using MIT T 2 bi-wire which some say are a little warm. Maybe the amp/cable c...
B&K amp Yes to your question. I currently have a B&K 7250 (200x5) running through a Denon 3802. It sounds good but I have been told that going through a receiver, buffers the sound instead of passing straight through as with a pre/pro. Good Luck, Chris
Opinions on Paradigm vs. Axiom vs. NHT? I've listened to the older NHTs @2 yrs ago when shopping for a new set up. I ended up going with Paradigm ref. all Around. Before buying Paradigm, I auditioned a lot of speakers, and for what I was looking for, the Paradigms worked great and have ...
any comments on the rotel 1066 surround processor? There's a great article/review in the new issue of Stereo Guide to Home Theater. It compares it to earlier Rotel Pre- Pros and the Anthem AVM 20. They gave it a great recommendation, and even made it their pre pro choice for 2002.
Diana Krall's New CD "Live in Paris"???? This CD is filled with more up tempo sound than her previous CD's. Even though the songs are the same, there's more instrumentation, and her voice, it's just awsome. Throw in the CD, pour a glass of wine, and sit back and enjoy.
MIT cables on Audio Advisor? Thanx for everyones input. It's really nice to know that there are others out there able to help out! Especially when I'm new at this HI-FI thing. ChrisRN |
