If you like, you can treat your player and preamp withEMS Sheets. These are said to absorb/block some of the radiated noise, and are available from Michael Percy Audio.See this link for a rerference:http://www.enjoythemusic.com/magazine/equipment/...
New Tweeters: In or Out of Phase?
I've replaced tweeters on several occasions and find that in some cases using a series resistor will increase the impedance and shift the crossover point slightly -more noticeably with higher order networks (such as the 3rd & 4th order filters...
MultiChannel too complicated for most...
I'm guessing that Multichannel setup is a bit unfamiliar and inconvenient for many veteran audiophiles. It requires more high quality (forget HTIB) gear and a LOT more work to get it "right". Once you've heard multichannel correctly done, it's har...

Need Help Combating Power Amp hum
Thanks,Normally I have to be within 3ft of the speakers to hear the hum, but during late-night CRITICAL listening (no traffic or neighborhood sounds and I turn off the fridge in the next room!) I can JUST detect it from my listening seat 8 ft away.
Need Help Combating Power Amp hum
Interesting, but no fluorescents involved. When I listen I usually turn off all the lights - still problem with hum.BTW audio system is on dedicated line and no hum when substituting a different power amp.
Need Help Combating Power Amp hum
The hum occurs even when the power amp is the ONLY component used (i.e. everything else was unplugged) it appears to be within the power amp itself. No balanced options in my system, as all components use single-ended RCA.
Need Help Combating Power Amp hum
It hums all by itself... As already mentionedI'm listening to just the power amp w/everything elsedisconnected/unplugged.
Parasound or Forte
Thanks everyone for your responses. I've finallygone with the Forte, which I A/B'd againstthe Parasound and another audiophile amp. The Forte has more top end detail and a deeper soundstage than the Parasound. It sounds better in my setup. Thanks ...
Parasound or Forte
