| Harbeth Compact 7's Sorry to be late to the party, but SS amps are not a must. The EAR 70 watt is plenty powerful and, by comparison, a great value. Even has room to knock it down a few watts and put good KT88s in there. | |

| Amplifier for Harbeth 40.2 Owning 3 different pairs of Harbeth speakers, if I were to "win" a pair of 40s, I would go solid state. The HL5s remained pretty dark with up to 70 watts of EAR tube power. But when there is that Benchmark Amp out there now, no excuses are left. | |
| Question for Harbeth Owners A long time and they never really open up, IMO. Never became as transparent as my 7s, just sayin'. Better lows, but not "real" lows. Beautiful sound, great vocals, but somewhat of a disappointment for me. I prefer the 7s with a sub. | |
