AC cord polarity?? Does it matter???????
Yes. Depending on the resolving level of your system the individual components of your system will have different sonics depending on the orientation of the ac plugs. Experiment with each component to determine which orientation sounds best to you...
isolation transformer
I tried a 2KVA Iso transformer in my system. No difference. In fact a power engineer friend commented if anything it would make it sound worse. The transformer is used to blockdc spikes, like lightening. If you must use it get one thats way big li...

introducing tube eq. into ss system
I believe if you like tubes the biggest sonic change would be a tube amp. I just put in a tube amp with real good ss and digital front. For me it's perfect.
Santana

Tice Power Cord - Model "Power Conductor 2"
Hi, Here's your answer. Switch "A" engaged will enhance the upper bass region. Switch "B" will enhance the treble region. Both "off" will give a smoother tube like sound while both "on" gives a combination of enhanced said bass and treble. Note, T...
Krell Service
I think because the amp was still under warranty that they were accommadating. I have a KPS 20i/l that was not covered and they had it for over a month and when I got it back it still had the same problem. It was a mechanical intermittency. I too ...
Krell KPS 20il
I have a KPS 20il and according to Stereophile it sounds better than the 20i due to larger output FETs. I never heard a 20i so I can't say if that's true. Right now I'm doing a comparison between the Krell and a modified (Stan Warren) Sony 608ES w...
Speaker cable length for L/R channels critical?
I have heard many times that electricity travels at the speed of light through a conductor. Dr Greenman says in a vacuum it travels close to that. I do not have a Phd but I do have a degree in electrical engineering and what I believe to be true (...
bright up "warm sound" speakers
Not familiar with the BL1 interconnects, but I know thatsilver interconnects will add brightness as well as silverspeaker cables. Interconnects are cheaper. Kimber SS orAlpha Core Geortz are two examples.
Differences in CD players? Am I crazy?
Here's my 2 cents. It is important to remember that whatyou hear in terms of sound quality is the sumation of allcomponents/cables/source etc. Using an extreme example ofperhaps what your experencing; if you take a $20,000 cdplayer and compare it ...

Hi there, I own a pair of 1.6's and drive them with a McCormack DNA 0.5 REV B. It's 100W/CH for 8 ohm loads and200W/CH for 4 ohms. It does sound great however I kindawish I had more power.(don't we all.) I'm not familiarwith the amp you speak of b...
Power Conditioning ?
Hello, If your looking for power "protection" do not concern yourself with power "conditioning". In general, power conditioning is expensive and protection is less expensive. Conditioning, surge protection, and UPS's are differentanimals altogeter...
Help with Bad Power
Hello, I suggest you tell your landlord that there is a potentially dangerous electrical situation in the apartmentand get an electrician to fix it. Your stereowill be fixed but that's the least of the problem. Anywayit won't cost you anything. Go...
Amp Selection Assistance Needed
Pete, I own 2 McCormack DNA 0.5's that were modified by Steve McCormack to what he calls Rev "B". These mods are serious. I know nothing of the other amps but it seems to me that if you bought a McCormack you would have the option of upgrading an...
