I have one place in mind and am making enquiries as to whether we can use it. If anyone else knows of a facility let me know. I am in the middle of changing my speakers and amplifiers at the moment. I do a lot of DIY as it saves money and is very...

what speakers to use?
Look at Silverlines Panatellas. These are terrific value and have a sound that is way ahead of the def techs.
Alternative choice for NAD 370
You should consider adding a tube preamp to your existing NAD. This will make a remarkable difference to the sound for a reasonable cost. Try the Bottlehead foreplay kit if your not sure as it only runs $149.00. I have tried the foreplay through a...

Tube amp for Silverline SR17s
Thanks everyone for your responses. I figure I"m just going to have to spend some time listening.I"m going to listen to the CJs first as they are manufactured near me in N.Va. Steve.
Which small but great monitors?
Try the silverlines. I have a pair of the SR17s and am delighted with them. I have also heard the soliloquys and like them also. You can get some excellent used deals on totem ones in the classifieds. What a delightful dilemma to be in!
Gthirteen's Rogue Tempest is HUMMING
You need to install a power conditioner to eliminate the hum. You can also run a new circuit to fix the problem. Having a metal outlet box does not necessarily mean that it is grounded. I am an electrician and have my own company. You can get hold...

Hi. I live in Annandale and would be very interested in this. I"ve only been into this for just over a year now, but its great fun and would be nice to talk to people with the same affliction.
Quality Monitors?
You could try Silverline SR17s. I demoed these against the 805s and thought they were more accurate and imaged better. Meadowlark also makes a fine monitor thats worth considering.
