Dose your Rega rp8 sagging issues
JakeC - I'll be interested to find out how this turns out for you with the distributor.
Does dry-brushing really do anything...
Depends on the weather/humidity level. The Audioquest brush works well during the Summer when the humidity is higher, but during the Winter in the Northeast it creates static on the LP, which then adds the Zerostat to the ritual.
Transfiguration Phoenix vs Ortofon Cadenza
Good info on the loading!I got both the cart and step up from Bob, so if it requires any tweaking I'm sure he could help out.At the moment, I've got the Cadenza going straight into the MC section of a K&K phono. In this setup the 40 ohm settin...
Transfiguration Phoenix vs Ortofon Cadenza
Thanks, GuysI ended up getting a package deal on a Cadenza Black and Bob’s Devices 1131 SUT that I’ll be running into the MM section of my Zesto Andros phono. The VPI will be going head-to-head with a Rega RP10/Apheta 2 combo that I’ve been runnin...

12" Tonearms for TD-124
I spoke with Alfred Kayser about the 3012R vs the M2-12R and much of the discussion came down to the use of knife-edge bearings vs. race ball bearings. He thought the modern arm would have an advantage in this area.Sound is subjective, though, and...
Phone stage for VPI Scout 1.1
Eastern Electric Minimax might be a good one to check out if you're into tubes. Is switchable for MM, MC high and MC low.
12" Tonearms for TD-124
Many thanks to all of the fine folks that have made suggestions. The SME M2-12R and Ortofon RS-309D are now both serious contenders.I may have to reconsider my plinth orientation, however. It was initially my plan to copy OMA's TD-124 by mounting ...
Zesto Andros phono users
I had used a Denon DL-103r with the Zesto. The test data that came with the cart said that it's output was about .3mv. Worked well, but not sure that I'd want to go much lower in output due to the increased noise floor.I've considered the 1.2 upgr...
Transfiguration Phoenix vs Ortofon Cadenza
Very true, wlutke. Output is a bit of a concern. Ortofon lists the output of the Black at .33mv, but most dealer's sites list it at .3mv. The Winfield seems to be consistently rated at .3mv..4-.5mv seems to be optimal for me at the moment, but I h...
Pani ... New ART-9 up and running ...
Thanks, Pani! Will need a shim shim to get it to work on a Rega but no problem for the VPI.Don't know if anyone has had a chance to compare the ART9 to an upper-level Dynavector like the XX2, but I'd love to hear about it.
