Matching DAC to Audiolab 6000cdt I'm using PS audio Stellar Dac with good success with the audiolab.
Entec vs. Lehman "Help" Yes they are the same. Norman Lehmann changed the name in 1998 to avoid a trademark conflict with another company with the same name.
The best DAC for the money Hi Viggen, I had almost given up listening to cds before I got the dAck!. I had the MSB linc dac and found it hard to listen to more than a few songs before listener fatigue set in, which had me going back to vinyl my primary source for serious li...
The best DAC for the money The dAck! battery powered dac is a nice sounding unit at $400. You can demo one with a $50 deposit, although the waiting line is a bit long for demo models. I took a chance and purchased one outright and am very glad I did.
Do You Remember Your First Music Purchase? My first music purchase was the 45 of "Summer in the City" by Lovin Spoonful. I have the track on LP but my original 45 record is long gone.
MF A3 speaker connectors: What were they thinking? They will accept bananas at the end of connector, you must first remove the little plastic caps covering the holes. I use Monster Cable X-terminator locking banana connectors with spades. I have found that the older style X-terminators that you ti...
Virtual Dynamics Recall I was very happy for the two weeks I had my Power 3's before the recall, going back to the stock cords made me realize the tremendous impact the VD cables had on my system. It has me wondering about their speaker cable and interconnects.
Who has tried Virtual Dynamics cables? I had a pair of P3's recalled and was offered the cryogenic treatment on the replacement P2's at no charge. The say it will take a extra three days. I sure don't mind the wait!
How important is precise VTA adjustment? I should add that the Michell VTA Adjuster raises the tonearm 1.75 mm from standard. You may have to shorten the arm board standoffs or you could order shorter ones from Michell.
How important is precise VTA adjustment? Michell makes a VTA adjustment base for Rega tonearms that I use with my GyroDec and OL250 arm that makes it easy to adjust VTA. I have found that on the GyroDec it results in much better sound to only finger tighten the tonearm hold-down nut.
Will Musical Fidelity A3cr work with Power Plant P300? Thanks Detlof and Marakanetz,I suppose it was wishfull thinking. Maybe I'll get a P300 for source components and plug the amp straight into the wall or look for a used P600 to power everything.
Rega and VPI tonearm owners - READ THIS I have a OL RB250 arm and the rear stub has a larger diameter than the stock Rega arm.I tried the Heavyweight and will not fit. I wish it had, it might quite a improvement on my Rega Planar 3.
Where to find Musical Fidelity power lead cables? I have a X-PSU and the power cable connectors look like a common AC adaptor type. I would think that radio shack would have the connectors. You might have to make the cable up yourself though.
cartridge for rega planar 3 - 800 range I have Rega Planar 3 with Grado Reference Platinum and use a sheet of Mu-metal from lab kit 110 purchased from Magnetic Shielding Corporation in Illinois. A bit of a pain to cut and fit but it does the job and stops the hum. |
