I'm going to buy my first tube amp. I need honest blunt opinions
I I would look into vfets. Yamaha B1 or B2. And there is some Sony gear out there as well. It's all vintage, but easily refurbished and the sound is alot like tubes. The closest you can get to tubes with SS.
Speaker that are 'KEEPERS" for the long haul!!!

Which arm do you wear your Rolex on?
Curious to know what you guys think/like about Pink Floyd's early work
Delicate Sound of Thunder definitely the best Pink Floyd recording and it was without Waters. But if he is saying that we have no business in Ukraine  I agree. Two Russia dictators fighting it out bores me.
Dynaco PAT 4 Pre-Amp ....Why is it Bashed??
So it's spelled van Alstein?. And it has a sticker that says FET on it.

Anyone  know anything about Frank van Alstine? I have a chance to buy a Pat 4 restored by him and am wondering if that rings a bell with anyone here.
"Can You Lift Yours?"
Anything weighing less than 50lbs isn't worth listening to, IMO.
seeking advise please on my short list for new speakers? (15k budget)
There is a pair of Wilson Sashas used for $16,900. Think it is on tubeusa.con but just Google Wilson Sasha and you will see it.
AR9LS Speakers - a good buy at $1k
Buying new for 1000, you will not come close to the amazing sound of the AR9LS. Don't listen to these people who obviously haven't a clue.
AR9LS Speakers - a good buy at $1k
Whoever said these speakers are ancient history and they don't sound good don't know what they are talking about. These are some of the best loudspeakers ever made and sound absolutely incredible. That is, if they ha e been kept up.
