Record Cleaning Machine – Recommendation Please!
I think the Clearaudio Double Matrix Sonic Professional is (by a wide margin) the best available cleaner. I owned a Nitty Gritty (ok if you are in a budget or good for a first cleaning of a really dirty record) and the KLAudio ultrasonic machine i...
Shun Mook Record Weight
William Ying is THE Shun Mook guy and he lives in Oakland, CA. I’ve been to his place a few times and spent a few weeks with various Shun Mook products, including the crazy little discs. It’s kinda crazy how moving these discs around changes the s...
What drugs do you use to enhance your listening experience?
I like to do what I call the Puff-n-Pull, which is puffing on a little weed and then doing a double shot of espresso. I find it gives me heightened senses, while also keeping me relaxed. Music is even more sublime. True story... Awhile back I noti...
EMT JSD P 6.0
I also have a T2 Homage running into a Shindo Vosne-Romanee. My prior arm was a Graham Phantom Supreme II on a Brinkmann Oasis. It it sounded pretty phenomenal.
EMT JSD P 6.0
I only have about 20 albums worth of listening and since I added a new table, arm, tubes and a bunch of other stuff at once, it's somewhat difficult to say what is the new cart versus the other stuff.I'm coming from a Koetsu Blue Lace (that I'm ke...

I have the Platinum on the way, so I'll let you know how it sounds in a week or so.
Matching Koetsu Stone Body Platinum Cartridge
@Bobsdevices - I'm running the A23 103 SUT. I haven't been able to track down any technical info on this. I'm sure my dealer will respond, but curious if you know if this SUT would give me the 1:20 ratio?
Matching Koetsu Stone Body Platinum Cartridge
@Peter - Nice, but I'm hesitant to buy any cartridge used. I wonder if Koetsu would still service a used cart. I suspect so, but would I just have to go thru the distributor?
Matching Koetsu Stone Body Platinum Cartridge
Thanks @Mulveling. On my way to hear an Onyx now. I really wish there was an opportunity to hear it in my system. It's a high priced cart to kinda have to buy on faith. :)
Tube Friendly High End "Big" speakers
@Gsm18439 - The Dominance looks interesting. I found a review on 6moons, but these speakers aren't listed on Zu's site. That said, at $40K they're gonna be out of my budget new. I'm not sure if this is a popular enough speaker that I'd find one fo...
Tube Friendly High End "Big" speakers
@Atmasphere - Just watched a video review of the Classic Audio's. Holy cow those are big. They might be too big for my room. I think they'd totally dominate it and they appear tall enough that they'd severely limit the view, which is kinda the bes...
Tube Friendly High End "Big" speakers
@Atmasphere - The Classic Audio T 1.4 Reference looks like a good possibility. I go back and forth between wanting an old school SET system and something much more modern like TAD or Focal. Not sure if Classic Audio has a dealer in the Bay Area or ...
Tube Friendly High End "Big" speakers
I like a beefy looking speaker like the TAD R-1 (which is out of my price range) or the Focal Maestro's (which isn't). Both of these (I've read here) are efficient enough to work with the right tube amps. So I'm looking for efficient "big" speaker...
Tube Friendly High End "Big" speakers
Yes, whatever I end up getting, I will get amps big enough to drive them. :)
Best gently used setup for under $6k
Thanks for the responses. I actually decided that it was silly to upgrade my turntable or build a system around LP's when I own so much great music on CD. Also, there's a good chance that I'll be moving to a MUCH bigger place in the next 6 months,...
