Single REL T/9x vs S/510 in Small Room
Qualitatively, my three REL subs have failed after a few years of ownership, so quality is no longer an attribute associated with price. I bought an R then a T and then an S version and they all had failing parts. Quality engineering at REL may no...
Rel vs the world
REL's are made with built-in obsolescence. I've owned three and they all died, for no reason whatsoever. Some part just stopped working. One I had repaired, it was the power unit. The other two subs I just replaced with another brand. The REL prod...
Has Rel fallen out of favor with audiophiles?
I hope so.  I've owned three and they've all stopped working for no reason whatsoever. The quality is so poor. They are not reliable.  The other brands keep on keeping on, without part failures. Not REL. The three REL subs I've owned had parts ran...
Old vs New, an experience with Dynaudio.
Similar Experience, daros71.  I ran a pair of Confidence C2 Signatures for many years and in 2022 listened to the new Confidence 50's. Not the same sound signature at all. I bought new Sonus Faber speakers because their sound signature was more si...
Any Octave Owners out there?
Reliability is awful. They have a QA issue, not to mention they can't repair anything damaged from their poor quality assurance.  I've sent an amplifier back twice and need to send it back a third time. Unbelievable. If you want to be frustrated,...
What is proper ratio of money spent on amp/preamp/integrated vs speakers? 1:1?
For digital playback, I spend ~30% on source and DAC, another ~30% on speakers, and the remaining on preampfification, amplification, and cables. That ratio has served me well in multiple system setups. There's never been an obvious weak link.  H...
Dynaudio customer service ignoring me
Dynaudio is not what it use to be. Components on crossover boards are now lower quality now, the customer service is unprofessional, home speakers don't sound as good, and they're overpriced.
Why audio streamers are so much more expensive than video streamers?
I think everyone should buy my $5K modem and router since that's the first link in the streaming chain guaranteeing data integrity and therefore audiophile nirvana. Buy a modem that filters out all the noise on the WAN, and a router that double ch...
Amps for Dynaudio ?
I have been using the Bryston 7B SST2 series mono amps for the Dynaudio Confidence C2 Signature speakers and they pair well for those that have heard the combination. I’ve used Simaudio Moon as well but prefer the "loudness" of Bryston amps.
Dynaudio Confidence 20 vrersus Kef reference 1
I spent around 10 totals hours listening to the new Confidence 20's and 50's. Time spent was over a few months during various stages of the "break-in" period.I currently own the Confidence C2 Signature speakers, spent $12K USD, and had to hear the...
Bryston preamps
I own a lot of old Bryston gear purchased around 2010. Just ordered a new BP-26 and new MPS-2 for a second system. The BP casing was warped and rocked when set on a table, and the MPS-2 had parts rattling around inside, plus a visible scratch. I’v...
New updated Dynaudio Confidence line.
So overpriced. The investment group will ruin this brand, as they do with all brands in which they take interest. When will people learn investment groups exist to squeeze brand equity for all it's worth, then they dump and run. Sad.
