Monster pwr conditioners----your thoughts?

I see these in Circuit City, Best Buy, and Target stores. I use a Chang light speed 3200 currently. Just curious to know if they make a difference sonically. Enjoy the music!

My unit fried and was replaced for free. I didn't like the fact that it couldn't be repaired. It was not put back in my system.

Thanx,
Russ
Ahh more food for thought. I have not tried any Monster product as of yet and thought of a purchase for there conditioners. I do like the fact that they label the inputs according to what componets you may have on hand.
Monster power conditioners mainly treat the upper frequencies and do it well. Much audio noise is contained in the upper frequencies. The better power conditioners treat all frequencies and that does make for an improvement over Monster designs, but yes they cost more. My Furutech was an improvement over my Monster 350. So, I'd say the Monster power centers are a good value. Sorry to say their cables don't fare well when compared to many other mid priced brands.

Who said it couldn't be repaired? It is probably quicker and less hassle to you to have a new one sent out, and then possible repair it and call it "B" stock.

So you complain that you got a new unit. Strange logic.
Who said it couldn't be repaired? The Monster customer service rep. and he was right, they sent me a new one. (I got the feeling this was a common problem) That's fine while it's under warranty, but a year from now, I'd be stuck with an un-repairable unit, not good. That's the logic, sell it while it's still worth something and cut my loss before it happens.
Thanx, Russ

P.S. The service department said that the unit sacrificed itself and that part is not repairable. The unit failed when I plugged it into the wall and it read that as a power surge. It seemed likely that it was possible for that to happen again, so I sold it.
