Whats more important? Speaker or the Amp

To what end? If it's a purchasing priority, I would first go with the best amplification I could afford and upgrade speakers as funds permit. To me, if I buy a top notch speaker and it resolves so well that it shows the short-comings of cheap amplification, it would be a miserable listening experience as I await better equipment. That's the only reason I would ponder this question in the first place. Just my 2 pesos.

Your whole system - source to speakers - is like a chain. Its strength is ONLY has strong as the weakest link; no matter which link (e.g. CD Player, cables, linesource, etc.)

Without the speaker there is no sound or room interaction

I've always auditioned speakers in the store, decided what I wanted, bought them and then started the search for a suitable amp. I suppose you could do it the other way around.

Give me a great speaker and an old used amp and I will be happy. In fact, I have a $20 Luxman that is actually impressive.
