Even though I have no common sense I cant wait to hear these speakers. and mouthwrench #1 and #2 make me want to hear them that much more. the anticipation is killing me! |
This is by far the best speaker buying experience I've ever had! I did look into the pmc but their terms and condition section was like a selling my soul contract. if the wavetouch isn't my thing I would like to hear Wolfman's stiff breeze if they would offer a 40 day in home trial. |
Wavetouch will make my wife's breast bigger? sweet I'm in! something that is built and designed by an engineer means nothing to me, I work with engineers everyday. and most of them are just educated idiots! I don't think anyone is trying to divert attention away from the speaker, I just would like to know why you would bash something you've never heard? |
Yeah Wolfman I'm a wavetouch agent from the Iowa chapter. another thing about an engineer and the design of a speaker is this, what else is an engineers job besides design for a company? cost savings, how do we cut corners and save money for maximum profit. so physics becomes money, and science becomes money. |
I've had several pairs of B&W speakers and they are great and very well made speakers, but just not my bag. for me they are too brite and in your face very clinical sounding. and with my VA Mozarts they are very warm and musical and image like crazy! but too laid back and polite. sooo im trying to find that that speaker that's in between the Mozarts and the B&W. GOOD LUCK! RIGHT? |
The wavetouch shipped sat am so I should have them by wed. so I'll give them a least 200 hrs to break in, and we'll see what happens? |
No it doesn't wolfman, like I said I work with engineers in manufacturing everyday, the production workers with no degree are the companies best engineers. and if a car is advertised as 300hp and only delivers 150hp isn't that false advertisement? this happened to sony saying their tv was 55inch when in fact it was 54.5 inches. and no I don't think if a system is right for me its right for everyone, some people think my Parasound amp and pre are junk! but I'll never get rid of them. and as far as speakers go I had some B&W 804s and could not stand the sound of them, and there is many who would disagree, to each his own. I'll know next week what wavetouch is like if it sucks I return them! |

I think it boils down to finding different sound for me and I still have not found it. will the wavetouch be that sound? idk but I have to give them a shot, and if not the search goes on. but I can say this has been the most fun I've had buying speakers. btw sevenshy I'll give you 40 cents for those Magnavox speakers. |

I'll know sat what my first impression of WT is, I'll give them a few weeks to break in and see what happens. I wonder what those Magnavox speakers of sevenshy's sound like? |

But reviews don't sell me on anything, just like stereophile magazine telling what I need and don't need, I don't buy into that magazine either. but they have measurements and cool spec charts and money changing hands to tell me what's good. |
They are not that bad looking, not kid friendly for sure. I'd like to see some refinement in the whizzer cone design. I'm in a basement so my wife could care less, she just shakes her head and says I thought the Mozart's were the last speakers and what about the other 20 pairs of speakers before these? I just still haven't found what I'm looking for. That's what attracted me to WT the unusual look, 40 day in home and all the bashing about the whizzer cone. bad press sometimes backfires into good press. |
So finally after a lot of trial and error selling and trading I achieved sonic nirvana for me. sold my Parasound a21 amp and p5 pre amp and went with Musical Design t100 amp and the sp1 pre amp. bought two REL t9 subs a Shunyata ps8 line cond Shunyata power cables. Mosaic interconnects and FMS zero speaker cables. the final piece I went with was Intuitive Designs Gamma Summits speakers. these speakers are unreal! soo seamless and pure. I don't even really know how to explain their sound, seamless, organic with a stage that is wide, deep, tall and three dimensional. the sound seems to float. it was explained to me that with the use of carbon fiber nano tube arrays which makes them almost super conductive at room temp and no phase shift is the reason for this. you don't hear individual drivers they just blend, my jaw hits the floor every time I listen. if anyone gets the chance listen to some of the speakers, amps, cables and pre amps that Dale Pitcher designs. then you'll hear what I mean. |
Hey maprik, the wavetouch are a very well made speaker and sound big for their size but they are just a little to brite for my taste, but i think if you ran them with a tube pre amp they would be outstanding speakers. I really cant say anything bad about them they are fast and detailed well built and easy to drive. the only reason i got rid of them was because i got the Intuitive Design Gamma Summits for the same price and the summits provide that organic seamless sound i was looking for. |
