The Pixies, "Monkey gone to heaven" Love the bass player Kim Deal. Black Sabbath, "War Pig". Geezer Butler, one of the superior bass players of all time. Pick any track, listen to the bass line. The White Stripes - Meg White. Hey, a band is only as good as their drummer, right? "Fell in love with a girl", "Icky Thumps". Jack s abilities are obviously unique as well. Wilco, "Impossible Germany". Nels Cline is kind of their secret weapon. Pantera, "Cemetery Gates". Rex Brown’s vocals are mazing. Led Zepplin, "Whole lotta love". John Paul Jones very underated. Bass, Keyboards and songwriter. Collaborating with Lenny Kravitz and Dave Grohl in Them Crooked Vulchars. |

Joanne ShawTaylor, Wild New release for 2016. Has a decent cover of "Summertime" (and the livin's easy). Second half of the disc is better than the first. "Wanna be my Lover" has some juice. https://youtu.be/OH30KGEMHTs N |
Rush! Chronicles /Double DIsc set. Rush! is one of the greats, as we all know. "Working Man", (disc one) one the greatest Rock anthems. However it was a tune on disc two that stood out today. 70’s power trio featuring Vinnie Appice, (Carmine’S brother) on drums. I like " Brown Eyes" and "Train" Axis, It’s a Circus World. https://youtu.be/Aoaq7VLh64o https://youtu.be/mHJKTL59vI4 N |
Joe Satriani, various. However I came across this on YouTube. Apparently Joe Satriani, Greg Kihn and drummer Jeff Campatelli briefly formed a pop band called The Squares. Campatelli was named as a top 50 best drummers by Rolling Stone Ragazine. Here is a sample. https://youtu.be/xfRzuV8w0uM N |
