What are you streaming tonight?

As we are in the modern age of music I thought I would see how this fares.
We have threads specific for cdp and tt so why not streaming as it is a modern media.
I don't care if you stream Tidal, Deezer, Spotify, Paradise Radio or any number of internet stations.
I would like you to share your tastes and method of streaming.

New Birth - New Birth
Kansas City Jammers - Got Good (if you get it)

Qobuz

Both good albums I used to have on vinyl.  Really glad Qobuz has them.  The Kansas City Jammers album I found in NM condition in a barn in southern Maryland. It quickly became part of my standard play list.
uberwaltz,

True.  I am constantly amazed at what I can find, even at 16/44.  So far only a couple of disappointments (Sugar Creek’s “Please Tell A Friend” would be nice on Qobuz, as well as more Jimmy Cliff and Brazilian pop). But CD quality is good for most stuff, I guess.
uberwaltz , I am trying to listen to albums I used to have in my vinyl collection that I never got around to playing.  I go to my Discogs account and hit the random selector; if it’s not in my “Listened” file I find it on Qobuz and stream it.  That’s how The Thompson Twins album came up.  Quite frankly, I was surprised Qobuz had it. And yes, I noticed that Qobuz is expanding its catalogue rapidly. It is more than I can handle, sometimes.  That’s a First World problem.
Various Artists - Outro Tempo: Electronic and Contemporary Music From Brazil, 1978-1992

Djavan - Luz

Outro Tempo is a wonderful compendium of Brazilian electronica from the 80s. Well worth checking out if you like either electronica or Brazilian music from the period.

The Djavan album I bought upon its original release in 1983.  I lost it years ago during a move and have been looking for it ever since.  Happy day!

Nice melancholy music this afternoon while avoiding the news.
reubent,  “Magnet and Steel” is one of those songs from my high school years I would rather forget, like “Stairway to Heaven”, “Music Box Dancer” and “Escape (The Pina Colada Song)”. Much overplayed during its original release.  Of course, around that time I discovered punk and ska so I affected more scorn for pop music than was probably healthy.
Uberwaltz,  very good point.  80s synth doesn’t sound quite so cool, but punk and ska sound so much more raw on my current system.
Madman, I am also reminded of another song from the period, Samantha Sang’s “Emotion” with The Bee Gees as background singers.

i am a sucker for music trivia!   I wasn’t quite sure who the backup singers were so I admit I looked it up.  Mind blown and song appreciated.  I now have newfound appreciation for this song.
A trivia question for you:  Djavan’s album “Luz”, recorded in 1982 and  released in the US as “Djavan.  The song “Samurai” had a harmonica solo...who did it?  It’s on YouTube, but if you can find the album on Qobuz it is well worth listening to.

Pure joy for me is listening to a live jazz recording from the 1950s or 60s and picking up conversations in the background.  Never heard that on the LPs with my system.
I’ve been having this problem with my PowerNode 2i these past few months, where I plug in the headphones but I still have some sound coming through my speakers. Just a minor annoyance, nothing to get worked up about. This afternoons firmware update seems to have fixed the issue.
But while trying to test Amazon Music streaming I discovered that BlueSound now supports MQA! The Jazz Re:Fest 2020 is set to stream out of the UK on August 23.

absolutely wonderful album!   Think Chuck Mangione at the height of his abilities, with an Arabic flair.
Thelonious Monk - Monk

Qobuz Hi-Res

Testing out my new Jamo S 808 subwoofer that was delivered from Adorama this morning. Took me some soul-searching to move from two-speaker to 2.1.  Still have to tweak the location but so far I like what I hear. Monks piano has added timbre and depth, especially on “Body and Soul”.
Pink Floyd - The Dark Side Of The Moon

Qobuz

Funny, thought there would be more Pink Floyd in Hi-Res on Qobuz.
Sarah Vaughan and her a Trio - Sarah Vaughan at Mr. Kelly’s

Qobuz

One of my favorite reference albums for testing equipment.
Cat Stevens - Tea For The Tillerman

Qobuz Hi-res

I think I have listened to this album at least 100 times since it was released.  I really am looking forward to the 50th anniversary re-recording when it is released in September.
