Hi astro58go,
Nice to see another Luna fan here. I read a review on Amazon about Luna, it went something like this... "if there is a house band in heaven, Luna would be it". I concur.
Happy Listening. |

Nutty,
Your post of David Bowie, moved me to listen through "Let's Dance" for the first time in years.
I have fond memories. This (lp) was playing on a system that included Spica TC-50 speakers years ago when I was a budding audiophile. At the time, I had Klipsch KG-4's. I later sold them and purchased a pair of Spica TC-50i's. They are still in a closet.
Bowie will always be awesome!
|
Nutty,
Ronnie Montrose... I was always really bummed when really, no one much, acknowledged his passing years ago. IMO, he was one of the greats!
|
|
Nutty,
FWIW.... M.Ward does an interesting interpretation of "Let's Dance" that you may enjoy. I always liked it.
Cheers!

A (hopefully funny story)...
I was at a local Music Matters event around 3 years ago in which M Fremer attended with one of his (shows).
Somehow, a relevant opening appeared... ( I think the current talk was Classic Records)...I said from my back row seat,,, "like the LAST sticker on the "Rough Mix" lp? Fremer kind of bowed his head after he realized what I meant.
|
"Rough Mix" .
Damn Right!
|
The way the story went as I remember it...
Hobson contacted Fremer for his copy of "Rough Mix" to duplicate for the Classic Records release.
Fremer provided his personal copy. It wasn't caught until later that Fremer's copy had a LAST sticker on the back jacket cover.
If you own the Classic Records copy, look and you'll see. It really does blend in if you aren't looking for it.
|
Jonathan Wilson "Valley of the Silver Moon"!!!
|
Elliot Murphy "Last of the Rock Stars"
|
David Gilmore "On An Island"
Mofimadness,
I dusted off my 30 some year old, well worn copy of REO "Riding The Storm Out" (I too, had a snow storm event)
Mind you, this is my original copy from over 30 years ago in which I partied to frequently. Looking at it now, I'd be hard pressed to pay $1.00 for.
After very slow steaming, and a good 6 minutes in my AD cleaner... Walla! (Should I say Violla?)
It sounds great! This really is a damn good sounding (live) lp!
Monkees: An underappreciated band! Ask Steven Stills?
|
"I Was Born a Rebel" Tom Petty |
The Byrds "Lover of the Bayou" |
|
mofimadness,
by the way, I own the SHEL cd even though I have no cd player in my home system. I was so struck by them after seeing them on tv, I purchased the cd.
