Tube amps with Magico a3 speakers?

I had the A3s with Primaluna dialogue HP monoblocks running KT120s (150 w/ ch).   It sounded slow and boring.  I later tried a Luxman L509x and the speakers came alive.  Technically, at 4 ohms the Luxman has a bit more power (70 w/ch more if I remember correctly) but I don’t think that was at issue.  I just don’t think there was any synergy there.  I think for those sealed speakers an amp with a higher damping factor may be a better match, but that’s just a guess on my part.  

I now have Focal Kanta 3 speakers, and one Primaluna Evo300 stereo amp at 35 w/ch sounds great on them.
