Thiel Owners

Guys-

I just scored a sweet pair of CS 2.4SE loudspeakers. Anyone else currently or previously owned this model?
Owners of the CS 2.4 or CS 2.7 are free to chime in as well. Thiel are excellent w/ both tubed or solid-state gear!

Keep me posted & Happy Listening!

What Gear and Cabling is in your system? Depending on format, some discs will present holographic, while others will not.  Depending on recording, some discs will sound recessed.

I found the CS 1.7 a measure better in clarity and focus in the High(s) and Mid(s).

Bass tighter as well.  This particluar model is smaller footprint of loudspeakers CS 2.7 and CS 3.7 A perfect match for an Integrated Amp.

2nd Note

The CS 1.7 also presents a deeper and wider Soundstage in comparison to models CS 1.5/CS 1.6 I hope this helps -Tom.

Excellent! I believe that the Star-Plane Woofer is the most redeeming factor in CS 1.7, setting it apart and better than CS 1.5/CS 1.6 speakers. Very cool planning a recreation of Jim's CS 1.7 model in 2025.  I cannot think of a better offering to kick off Thiel Renaissance.

Welcome! Good to see you here today. NAD built a few sleeper products over the years. The C375BEE could very well be on of those products. As Tom pointed out, the CS 1.6 is not a difficult load to push. What other gear is in your System?

Good to see you here today.  We have many fans/owners of CS 5 on The Panel.

Good to read that Kinki Studio, NAIM and Vincent are sonic matches.

Nice (potential) score on those 2.2 speakers.  I certainly can attest for AYRE and Thiel being sonic matches. I enjoy the same Integrated Amp with CS 2.4SE loudspeakers.

What other gear and cabling is in your System?

Nice supporting gear. Are you running a full loom of Anti-Cable?  If not,

which brands/models of cables and cords?

Good to see you as always.  I understand what 77jovian is trying to convey. I was not impressed with Vandersteen Quattro nor Treo speakers. Something was missing, I cannot place my finger on it. One is better off with the 3A Signature or 5A speaker. Aside from these (2) models, next best step up is the Kento. It is simply Outstanding!

Thiel models CS 2.4, CS 2.4 SE, CS 2.7 and CS 3.7 are far better than Vandy Quattro and Treo to my ears.  The CS 3.7 is a strong competitor against the Kento.

This is a Testament for Jim's design and execution practices.

Your ears do not deceive. I, too, found the Quattro and Treo speakers on the lean side. And lacking weight in the Bass region(s). I would be interested in learning why Richard voiced these (2) models that way?
