Absolutely! I do not aurally enjoy a true neutral system as well.
Too clinical, dry and thin to my ears. Silver cables will present this way on Thiel loudspeakers, especially, the newer models.
Best practice, trust your own ears. I never thought that I would enjoy an Integrated Amp? Not only did I enjoy it, I purchased one!

Today marks this thread's 5th Anniversary here on Audiogon. Since inception, we are acquiring and attracting new contributors and members of the Panel. Most of you guys enjoy Jim's earlier or vintage models.
It was another banner year in 2020. Hopefully, we did not lose anyone to the virus? Stay Safe, especially, those of you in the larger cities.
As for this new year, I would like to attract more Industry types.
I know that you guys are reading this thread. Feel free to drop by and say Hello. Same goes for Dealers/Retailers. With only Cabling left, this year, I will complete my system. My Audio journey took a little longer than anticipated. Would I change course or direction? No.

Thank You for the follow up and collection information. Agreed, Mr. Rob Gillum had/has a pair of CS 2.7 in Piano White at CSS. I do not know if he still owns this specific pair? We really should meet sometime as I would like to hear a comparison between the CS 2.4 w/ SE upgrade(s) vs. CS 2.4SE models.
Overall, a very cool Collection of Thiel Loudspeakers.

Reading through this thread, I talked about how close the Vandy 3A Signature trailed a Thiel CS 2.4 loudspeaker. The CS 2.4 wins because of its inherent rich timbre. Moreover, I found the CS 2.4SE a measure richer which is unbelievable in presentation.

Nice! post and citation per Stereophile Magazine. The cabinet and finish of my CS 2.4SE loudspeakers is impeccable as well. Weighing almost 90 lbs per speaker, they are no slouch. Care and Consideration in effect.

after re-reading your post as above, no doubt that your 2.2 speakers need an upgrade. 30 years is a long time for any Gear. Nice to see an original CAL Audio Ikon Mk II with Power Boss. These are quite rare in Operating shape.
