contact Mr. Rob Gillum at CSS as above. There are a few gentlemen that use Sound Anchor platforms with their CS 2.4 speakers. During my auditioning I preferred the speaker sitting on carpet without any decoupling. How do you like the Pass Labs amp-

Do you recall the peak Amperes of the KWA 150SE ? This measurement or Slew Rate are strong indicators on the performance of a Power amp.

Nice score! Good to read that you guys are keep Mr. Rob Gillum in business. I have heard the Bryston 3B-ST a few times and do not underestimate its presence. It is a real sleeper of a power amp. Stepping up to the SST or SST2 will reward the listener even more. Keep us posted as you massage these loudspeakers into your room, system.

check out eBay as there are (2) pairs of CS 2.4 in New York. Then, there is a single pair in NH, followed by another single pair, in RI. Hope these wonderful speakers peak an interest and you are able to score an audition. Keep us posted on the next direction.

great timing for another consideration of Thiel speakers. Over on eBay, there are several pairs of CS 2.4 loudspeakers. Grab a demo if you can, much has changed since the CS 3.6 model. Keep us posted should you decide to go in a different brand, direction.

Excellent! I do believe that you are the first to mix/match Accuphase and Ayre (similar to mix/match Accuphase and Cary). Those are pretty exclusive Audiophile brands. Good to learn that they are a sonic match w/ our beloved Thiel speakers.

Right On! Yes- the CS 2.4 can absolutely play well with as little as 60wpc. Your 12x13 room provided the icing on the cake.
My 1st encounter with the 2.4 was in a small room (not exact on actual dimensions?). I always go into any demo with my living room in mind and Soundscape's room was smaller indeed. In reflection, the presentation and sound was perfect. And to think, a small Creek integrated amp was provided the aural pleasure. I was and am hooked!

One of my fave demo tracks that will reveal the 2.4's capability- Pearl Jam "Oceans". Incredible dynamics for a 90's Rock recording. The passive radiator really enhances the bottom end. Play it LOUD!

Thank You for sharing your listening experience with the Bryston, Thiel, combination. Naim is a very fine brand and it is good to learn that there is a synergy on Thiel loudspeakers. You are the first contributor to post owning both brands that I have read across multiple Audio forums to date. If you find that replacing the driver(s) in your 3.6 model, I feel that you may be pleasantly surprised owning the CS 2.4 or CS 2.7 speaker.
Much Thanks for the compliments on this thread. On board are DIY guys, Experts and Fans of our beloved speakers. There are many of you vintage owners as well. All of these factors do indeed make for a go-to reference experience. I look forward in reading more about your Audio journey and musical preferences.

mr_bill Welcome back. I can speak to the effect of the CS 1.6 , CS 2.4 , CS 2.7 and CS 3.7 models. The CS 1.6 is a nice 2-way speaker for the casual listener in a small to medium sized room. A subwoofer will compliment this model nicely if you want a little more low-end response. Great speaker for a near-field application as well. Next, the CS 2.4 is a sweet spot and honey of a loudspeaker to boot. There are several pairs now on eBay. An outstanding 3-way, IMO. Models CS 2.7 and CS 3.7 were Mr. Jim Thiel's last design which featured a modern coaxial and wavy - appearanced drivers. To date, I still wonder the number of pairs built for each loudspeaker. All models feature beautiful and well braced cabinets, sloped baffles, for optimum performance. And do they ever deliver the musical goods!I cannot speak to the CS 1.5 , 2.3 nor 3.6 models. I want to report that the CS 2.2 and CS 2.3 are represented somewhere within this thread. Check out Audio Asylum and AVS Forum, as there are a few owners across those sites. If you have not done so, read this thread starting with post #1 to the present. An incredible amount of information is available. Happy Listening!

rosami Thank You for citing your cables. Agreed, the Naim DIN cables are very good as well as Nordost products. Either way, you cannot go wrong.Looking forward in reading more after you solve any pending system issue(s). Happy Listening!

jon_5912 Absolutely! it is all about shopping around to find the best gear that suits your taste. I was thinking that you are one of our CS 2.2 owners, thanks for the confirmation. Yamaha is still a top Audio competitor. Pioneer and Sony are not quite what they used to be as a force. Denon has a hit-or-miss record as well. Not sure if JVC is still in the game? Not sure if Marantz is making their receivers in Japan? Happy Listening!

jab Good to see you again. Yes, it is noted that VAC and VTL are well-suited for Thiel loudspeakers. Thank You for citing your preference. What other gear is in your system? Happy Listening!

jon_5912 Spot On! The 8" woofer is excellent, as well as, the passive radiator. Really does make for a pleasant aural experience at any level in a small to medium sized room. Happy Listening!
