What adcom did you have and what was the pre amp? I currently use the 5800 with 18 mosfets per channel and a huge toroidal. Runs incredibly hot and with the luxman at least it sounds excellent with great dimensionality. I feel like adcom pre’s are the adcom amps downfall despite the adcom pre amps literally made to be paired with them. Also what would your input be on me getting a used musical fidelity tri vista 300 for thiels? Saw someone on YouTube using it with their cs7’s 

Try vista will be in its own system possibly on thiel cs 3.7 when the time comes

Interesting I’m curious what about the cs6 or cs7? I’ll probably keep the cs 3.5 and get the 3.7 for the other system. What were your impressions on the cs3.5 on adcom amps vs the others?

If you had a pair of 3.5 before how are the 3.6 compared to it, solo?

Makes me want to get into crossover engineering. I know thiel is working on the one series but I got this lil nagging in me to learn crossover engineering

Bone dog, in regards to the new midrange finding maybe that’s why I find myself listening to string instrument and jazz songs. Midrange is so clear transparent and accentuated unlike the imf I had so I’m hearing things I hadn’t beforehand.

Also bonedog someone on the adcom group over on Facebook made an little unit to go in between the speakers and the amp that is a protection block. Something I will be investing into despite that the adcom 5800 has no signs of anything bad in it now or anytime soon. It does not mess with the signal in any way shape or form. The guy is a genius.

I’ve heard the 555’s I liked em but the 5800 i love right now. Great unit I think.

Luxman m-08 worthy of driving a pair of thiel 3.6/3.7?

I sent the impedance phase graph to adcom asking if my adcom 5800 would be able to drive 3.6. They said assuming you listen at normal levels you’ll do just fine. Anyone have any idea on luxman m-117? It’s claimed it can run 2 ohms all day 820 watts.

I don’t think my audire forte should be leaping to 1v on start up and shut down.

Well I got my 3.6 in today. Ran them on the adcom. There’s a definitive grittiness with the newer thiel adcom combo that wasn’t there with the 3.5. I’ll probably keep the adcom for the 3.5 and start looking for a smoother amp. Parasound a21 or a21+ I think. Richard from parasound said that they will do fine with the impedance curve at my budget.

There’s a set of Aragon palladium mkii monoblocks near by.... RATED for 2 ohms 1,000 watts. Hmmmm.

What happen to the list of amps someone had made? I can’t find the page.

Well in an unfortunate turn of events I had to get a new car. Now I’m back to looking at amps. I’m thinking going Aragon palladium monoblocks. 1000 watts into 2 ohms class a/b or mark levinson amps at the moment.

I don’t think the bass is as dynamic as it could be as it would be with other amps of higher quality.

Watching the drivers are uncanny.

220 watts at 4 ohms litterally says approved for 2 ohm loads continuous on the amp. Even has speaker protection.

Thing is krell said none of their amps are designed for 15 amp circuit that I would have to upgrade to a 20 amp circuit. And if I’m going to do that I would want to rewire which I have no permission to do at my current residence.

So if the adcom 5802 did fine then the 5800 should be fine right?

The dac is at full volume controlling the actual volume with my phone via Bluetooth. Bass is thunderous no problems thus far

I’m assuming if it’s doing cs5 just fine it will do the cs3.6 at louder volumes.

Anyone have any experience with LSA signature integrated amp? Looks like a beast. 300 at 4 and stable into two. Kinda sticking with mark levinson but doesn’t keep me from looking around for fun.

Is there a recap kit available for the 3.6? Also my thiels aren’t bright like many keep saying the 3.6’s are. Very smooth. Yes the tweeter works I tested that with my hearing aids. Anyways my amp search may be pushed back yet again due to my car having exposed metal on the rocker panel that I only noticed after I took it to a car wash. (Dried Salt spray and bare metal/primer hide each other well). So more time to look for amps. Still trying to find out what the adcom has. 60+ amperes and more than 300 watts is the recommendation right? I wish there weren’t so many possibilities. More than a few people on Facebook are recommending class d amps. Will those have the power to drive thiels current wise and headroom wise? Trying to stick to class a/b personally 

Anyone used Vincent audio sp-331? Says it can handle 2 ohms no problems. 1,000 watt ring core transformer 300 at 4 ohms. Buddy is using one for his legacy audio signature 3’s.

@beetlemania how much would a used v-1 cost? I swims if it drive 7.2’s it’ll drive 3.6’s just fine. Right? 32 fets per channel? Sounds amazing I want one.

@unsound for a 10 by 13 room. It’s pretty loud. Walls shake.

I should keep focusing on getting a better amp so that when I do go cs 7 I’m actually able to play them.

So I am gonna be getting a pair of classe model 25’s. Guy used them on apogee speakers. I am excited to see what this will bring. He is letting me do a payment plan.

Remember that audio research d-110 I inquired about a while back? Well the guy got it restored and is driving his thiel 3.6’s with it.

So here’s the thing if I get the cs 7 my 3.6 have to go. Guy said they’d give 500 on trade in for the 3.6z with me selling my car. I’d be able to do this.

Classe model 25 should work on the 7 after all I see videos of them being used on apogees

It’s funny. I go around listening to thes epsekaers people have for sale. Speakers that cost more than mine even and they all just miss something these thiels have. How real they sound. How they make the voices sound like they’re singing in the same room as you. Only the Ar9, certain kef models, dahlquist, vandersteen, and sonus faber even get close. None match the coherency the thiels have at all except for the vandersteen. Obviously I’m 
missing a few others but those are the speakers whose sound I can remember very well and is familiar with.
