The new Synergistic Research BLUE fuses ....

New SR BLUE fuse thread ...

I’ve replaced all 5 of the SR BLACK fuses in my system with the new SR BLUE fuses. Cold, out of the box, the BLUE fuses stomped the fully broken-in SR BLACKS in a big way. As good as the SR BLACK fuses were/are, especially in comparison with the SR RED fuses, SR has found another break-through in fuses.

1. Musicality ... The system is totally seamless at this point. Its as if there is no system in the room, only a wall to wall, front to back and floor to ceiling music presentation with true to life tonality from the various instruments.

2. Extension ... I’ve seemed to gain about an octave in low bass response. This has the effect of putting more meat on the bones of the instruments. Highs are very extended, breathing new life into my magic percussion recordings. Vibes, chimes, bells, and triangles positioned in the rear of the orchestra all have improved. I’ve experienced no roll-off of the highs what so ever with the new BLUE fuses. Just a more relaxed natural presentation.

3. Dynamics ... This is a huge improvement over the BLACK fuses. Piano and vibes fans ... this is fantastic.

I have a Japanese audiophile CD of Flamenco music ... the foot stomps on the stage, the hand clapping and the castanets are present like never before. Want to hear natural sounding castanets? Get the BLUE fuses.

4. Mid range ... Ha! Put on your favorite Ben Webster album ... and a pair of adult diapers. Play Chris Connor singing "All About Ronnie," its to die for.

Quick .... someone here HAS to buy this double album. Its a bargain at this price. Audiophile sound, excellent performance by the one and only Chris Connor. Yes, its mono ... but so what? Its so good you won’t miss the stereo effects. If you’re the lucky person who scores this album, please post your results here.

Overall impressions:

Where the RED fuses took about 20 hours to sound their best, and the BLACK fuses took upwards of 200 hours of total break-in, the BLUE fuses sounded really good right out of the box ... and that’s without doing anything about proper directional positioning. Not that the BLUE fuses don’t need breaking in, they do. The improvement continues through week three. Its a gradual break-in thing where each listening session is better than the last.

Everything I described above continues to break new ground in my system as the fuses continue breaking in. Quite honestly, I find it difficult to tear myself away from the system in order to get things done. Its truly been transformed into a magical music machine. With the expenditure of $150.00 and a 30 day return policy there’s really nothing to lose. In my system, its like upgrading to a better pre amp, amp, CD player or phono stage. Highly recommended.

Kudos to Ted Denney and the entire staff at SR. Amazing stuff, guys. :-)

Frank

PS: If you try the SR BLUE fuses, please post your results here. Seems the naysayers, the Debbie Downers and Negative Nellie’s have hijacked the original RED fuse thread. A pox on their houses and their Pioneer receivers.

As I said before prof

" If you go back to the OP’s first post and see the differences a "black" fuse did, them maybe multiples into all the equipment, then after that the massive improvements the "blue" does over the "black" then the massive improvements multiple "blues" do.

You’ve got to think to your self, that system of his must of sounded like a real t**d before any of these boutique $150 fuses came along.

Cheers George

Thats just mean spirited and a cheap shot even for you.......
Could it be possible that a members system is so unresolving and sounds like a huge t*#d that it is beyond saving even with SR blue fuses....

You gotta wonder.......
If you find it so toxic you are more than welcome to push that little button labelled "unfollow discussion"......

Could well coincide with a significant reduction in toxicity levels.......
Seems that the OPPO udp205 is another unit with a fuse soldered onto the mains board.
Phooey!
Mapman
Not deterred at all, just lazy...lol.
I will pull the cover and investigate, sure I could make an aftermarket fuse work in there.....
Good lord George
Do you not have anything more in your repertoire than your standard 4 well worn responses that we have been "treated" to ,oh what a hundred times or more now?

Anybody have any new flash cards they can lend George?
You are correct Geoff but on the 95 at least it was not soldered to the board.
George
Irritate me?
You???
Dear me, you do have delusions of grandeur!

You do remember where the English sent all their worst criminals and nut jobs don't you.......
George
WTH is wrong with you?
Did you not just read the admins warning?
Or are you that arrogant you think you are above them?

Cool your heels a bit please!
Admin

Pretty sure that of late there had been serious attempts by some members to discuss why the fuses do what they do , like the last couple dozen posts.
Then along comes a certain member and just reiterates all the same nonsense and using derogatory terms like snake oil, awesome foursome, fusers etc.

That then just starts a cascading chain reaction and yes it does drag the thread down.

Maybe that is where you should be looking.......
After YOUR derogatory post .....
Sunshine
At least try to keep up and get your ducks in a row......

You want to engage in a battle of wits go for it but lets take it off this thread, its already under severe scrutiny.
Pick your battlefield.....
And right on cue George!
Bravo.
We only seen that post about 50 times, needed the refresher...thank you!
Mapman
TBH that SR blurb sounds more like the sort of nonsense I would expect some other members to come out with than any worthwhile technical info.
They would likely be better off saying nothing than some techno babble that has very little meaning.

It almost makes me embarrassed to have to keep saying they work in my system but they do to my ears.

My new SR Blue fuse turned up yesterday which when I get home late Saturday will be going into my Goldnote PH-10 phono stage so will see what difference I can hear then on the latest purchase, which will be my first Blue fuse.
Mapman
Yes I know that was direct from SR website but I Think you could be right that is just some marketing Joe spelling it out.

I miss the pit girls! Always worked for me!

Inductive quantum coupling

Reminds me of Star Trek..

I canna stop it capain, she's gonna blow!
Gdhal

I have no idea how I could even begin to do blind testing in my house.
Who would change fuses for me? My wife? She would blow herself up, or my equipment, not sure which would be more upsetting.....😇😇😇

More a case of logistics in my application of this matter.
Prof
Unfortunately all neighbours are like 85 plus and zero interest in me or my toys.
Not one person I know in this country has the slightest interest in audio equipment.
Now some friends from back in Blighty do but 4000 miles is just a tad excessive.
Exactly Mapman, just the way I did it, by myself with my ears and as some will insist, built in expectation bias.
But I perceived a not so subtle difference with black fuses.

Gdhal..
Please, what are friends?
😞😞😞
Mapman
I am in both camps
Paid for 2 black fuses(BAT power amp)
Had another black fuse given me.(exogal DAC)
Maybe I am bias, who knows.
Who even cares......

Not even sure my English acquaintances know what a fuse is, we used to just bend nails to fit......
Course had to be careful whether used galvanised or stainless......
Nonoise

Exactly, I was a bit slow to catch on to his mind games there.
Well its not going to happen on my watch.
🗿🗿🗿
Had to Google " spruiking"!

Would you by any chance be a fellow countryman to George?
Good luck with the fuses Eddy

Kudos to you for having the nads to take a leap of faith and actually TRY them unlike some members.....
And to post here your intentions likely knowing the feeding frenzy this would induce in certain members.....
Please keep us updated on your progress
Actually very ironic
On the flight back home from Orange County I was reading about the origin of the term "snake oil".
Interesting read if nothing else....
Jay23

I think for the size of the enthusiast audio market there exists a decent supply of power conditioners to hand.

I use Corepowertech Equicore1800 myself, and I know a few more here do as well.
But this IS a SR Blue fuse thread after all.
Plenty of other threads on power conditioners.....
Well here goes
Back home today from a week working in Orange County and both my new OPPO UDP205 and SR Blue fuse were waiting for me.
Inserted said Blue into Goldnote PH-10 phono stage and left it on just to warm through a bit.

Played vinyl I am very familiar with and......

IMHO there is an increased feel of depth to the music overall, female vocals and acoustic guitars have more definition, bass just feels tighter, not deeper or louder but, well just more. Instruments seem easier to pick out of the mix, more defined overall.
Really hard to describe adequately but a definite improvement all round, and this is brand new out of the box, 1 hour play time.

Ok, set, go.........
Actually we have ears.
Try them, you might just be surprised.
Thank you and good night
Mike
Glad there are still a few like minded sane souls left in here.
I have always trusted my ears first, I have returned speaker cables before as I did not like the new "tone".
I would not have hesitated one minute to do the same with fuses if I had not perceived a SQ improvement.
3 blacks, 1 blue, ALL raised my system Sq to some degree.
Considering the thousands you can spend on cables, new equipment etc, a couple hundred on fuses? I will take it any day!
George.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Oh so sorry I fell asleep while preparing a reply to your "new" post......
Sorry George
But my whole life and work is based around common sense and practical application.
I definitely do not fall into your 1% category.
What I do have is a pair of fully functional ears.....
Try a pair.....
Last two posts before mine are both spot on and both absolutely correct.

However certain members just are not open minded enough to even consider that possibility and are stuck in a rut.

Nice posts both mitch and Carpathian.
Eddy
I would be shocked if you do not hear an improvement BUT it will be what it will be, whichever way please do return to let us know how it all panned out
Best of luck
Told you once twinkletoes

At least I had the nads to take a leap and spend some "bucks".

And just did so again with positive results to my ears.

Or maybe you have missed that little fact.

And yes I consider it a fact if I can hear a difference, really could not give a flying fig about your negative nelly opinions George.
But please do keep em coming, THAT is what is driving this thread right now.....LOL
@jay23.
George makes uninformed comments??? I am aghast at that news!

😱😱😱😱

Still flipping vinyl, not sure as hearing much more change since inserting Blue fuse in phono stage Sat night.
But it was a pretty impressive change to start with so.....
Well worth $150 to me and that is ALL that matters really at the end of the day.

If others of a different opinion are content with their $2 fuse change then so be it.
I think you might be missing out but it is your money and your choice for sure and that I respect.

So please respect my choice even if you cannot get a fact laden scientific explanation for it.
That is not what this thread is about , IMHO at least, I could not care less if anybody believes me or not and whether they can hear a difference or not.
Read Franks thread post....

"PS: If you try the SR BLUE fuses, please post your results here. Seems the naysayers, the Debbie Downers and Negative Nellie’s have hijacked the original RED fuse thread. A pox on their houses and their Pioneer receivers. "

And that is ALL I have ever tried to do....lol
Gdhal
Only in certain members minds are there "ranks".
This thread is supposed to be about sharing experience about the SR Blue fuses.

Only certain members decided to turn it into a battlefield instead.....
Amg56
I certainly was not referring to your self and apologize if you took it to mean that.
I was referencing certain more obtuse members who have been around a long time.
Hey all four stock answers in one post!
Perfect, maybe will not have to listen to any more whining for a while.
You are nothing if not predictable...lol.

Spot on!
I doubt certain members would be missed either on this thread or this forum in its entirety.
I hate to keep correcting your mathematical ability but it is most definitely.....
The Magnificent Seven.

Oh btw, I have been practicing wearing my underpants on the outside of late just to help the image.

Nope, not helped the sq any though....
