Tax man cometh and the taxman goeth. Whew

Time to entertain some new speakers.

My short list is Usher 8871s with the Be tweeter and the Von Schweikert VR4 SRs but I am open to others in these price ranges.

I'd like to hear from those who have owned or critically listened to either speaker.

This is not a this speaker is better than that that speaker thread. This is pro and con of each model and please list the associated equipment if you can.

If you used to own either speaker and sold them please share what you replaced them with and if you have any regrets.

Congrats, first off. Next, please list the following, as this info would help people to know more about what it is you need.

1) Room size
2) Which amp?
3) Music preferences (genres, volumes, etc.)
4) Sonic preferences (highly detailed, warm, neutral, etc.)

Sorry for all of the questions, but I think the more specific you can be, the more likely the responses will hone in on your needs.

Boa2, you ask very good questions but I'm going to refrain from answering them because doing so may slant other's postings thereby potentially make my discerning them more difficult. In other words I think I am able to obtain more pure and unadulterated responses by keeping my inquiry simple.

Also except for the room (14 x 21 x 8), I am in a position to swap components in and out. Music tastes are broad. I guess I answered two of your questions anyway.
