A watershed design for Tara Lab's power cord's, new to the industry,A refinement that took years to achieve,A must audition in any high performance system, some power cable's make more difference with performance than any other type cable, this is one of them,

Grandmaster Evolution AC Power Cable

The GM Evolution AC power cables is the absolute ultimate power cable design. It employs twenty four RSC conductors for each of the live, neutral and ground “earth” conductor paths. A total of nine low frequency conductor paths is used combined with the 72 RSC solid core high frequency conductors. The 72 RSC high frequency conductors are shielded in three separate groups for live, neutral and ground. Then the shields are combined to provide a phenomenal ground path together with RF/Emi rejection.
Mmmm, you never answered what cables you enjoy?, are you on this thread to discuss cables?,
This is a new introduced power cable, this is one model up from the standard Cobalt power cable, I recommend getting the oyaide termination up grade choice that Tara Labs offer's when buying this cable, a must audition in any given system, Happy listening,,

The Cobalt AC Reference Power Cable

The Cobalt AC Reference Power Cable is a reference quality AC Power Cable having both High-Frequency conductors (Rectangular Solid Core) matched with specially adapted Low Frequency conductors. The Cobalt Reference AC has 18 high frequency conductors for the Live run, and 18 high frequency conductors for the Neutral run. The Ground path is comprised of shielding and 18 AWG solid core conductors that are fitted with Ceralex(R) capsules.
Hi Brett, doing OK, took your advice, took a peek at the system page, I seen mixing cables, one brand I never heard of,I prefer a loom when it comes to cables, always works best for me, have you made any changes in your system since the last time we talked?
I'm making a correction, the Tara Labs A/C Reference power cable comes standard with the Oyaide terminations, this model and the Omega Evolution A/C power cable, Grandmaster Evolution A/C power cable, these three come standard with the Oyaide terminations:-)
Hi Brett, do you know what is wrong with your amplifiers?, how long have they been down?
Hi Andrew9405, I personally was sent exclusive info and pictures of the proto type of the above cable a few months before it's introduction to the market place, the above info is from the Tara website, however, instead of going through multiple past emails, this was easier to do, LoL!, needless to say, yes!, I have listened to this cable, and nearly every Tara cable, I personally have one of Tara's state of the art cable systems on my system, also, I have been using Tara cables since 1990, I seem to always come back to this brand, just like some people drive nothing but General Motors products, it's the same with me with this cable brand, it works for me, if there is any thing you want to know about Tara Labs, I will do my best to help you, cheers.:-)
Thankyou!, if you do not want to talk about cables, then why are you on this thread!, mmmm!

Hi Rsf507, Ask Devon Scott if he knows Keith Henry, lol!, that has huge revelance with Tara Labs, really, lol!, I've got them dealers, I buy cables directly from them!, many, many audiophile's have taken personal opinions from me and bought Tara cable's from Tara dealer's and directly from Tara, your kidding right!, who are you to question me that has a relationship with Tara Labs for the past 20 years!, tell Devon Scott my name, and ask him what my model cables are!, which is the zero gold I/Cs, and Omega gold speaker cable's, and Cobalt power cord with oyaide terminations, as a mater of fact, I have the very same speaker cables that was owned by no other than Michael Freamer of Stereophile magazine that sent them back to Tara for the new Tara Evolution Omega speaker cable's that he raves about in his review as their is no better that he has ever heard or owned, I know Mathew Bond personally as well, also, I've known Devon Scott since he started working for Tara Labs, he was only a sales man, lol, now he's vice President, you really need to know what your talking about before you say something you know nothing about!
Good post john-jmcgrogan2, you always said there are many different flavors to audio, everyone doesn't like the same.
This thread is up to 366,642 views!, by the way, I do not respond to crap!, appreciate you Isochronism, you know me, many others over the years know my post are true!, calvinj, I wanted to see how bad some of these people can hang them selfs to look bad! ,, that is what I've been doing, works everytime, you think, lol.
Calvinj, what did you prefer with the accuphase digital player over what you have listened too?
Calvinj, you should check out a loom of the TARA 0.3 cable's,you would enjoy them.
Foxx xxx Andrew 9405, you not welcome here! You ever mention my name here with dishonesty and trash this thread, I will have you banned axx hxxx, now laugh at that, btw everyone, this guy don't have any cable's worth a mention, there crap, lol, his whole system is as well, when someone talks and does what he has here, mmm, they don't have nothing but emotivia home theater and audio questions cheap cables, ha, ha!
Hey calvinj, their is a pair of Gato fm6 speakers in mint, excellent, used pair here on audiogon for $9,300 asking price, is that a good deal?
John, when did you get the Vienna acoustics speakers? , I do not recall you having them a couple of years ago?
Hi romney80, yes, There is a significant difference with performance, I would get the 0.8 with ground station interconnect's, very revealing, definitely will let you know your weak link of your system is if out fitted with all of it, the speaker cable's are good as well.
Hi calvinj, how have you been doing?, have you made any changes in your system since we last spoke?
I have looked into this, I have only found three or four models of cables for this offer!, also, this is temporary to clear some used cable stock out.
Taralabs is not selling all their models direct, nor are the cables they are selling directly new!, read what the ad says, lol, you cannot get their best cables at 40% discounts!, as a matter of fact, most companies will sell direct to you if their isn't any dealers in your area, krell will sale to me direct,etc...
Sts, the Grandmaster has the gen 3 conductors, that is not found in any other model they have, it is a new proprietary conductor design, I have blogged here numerous times about it.
Calvinj, the mullard Military spec model tubes are the best, however, they are $400.00 to $500.00 a piece, the good news, they are nos tubes, and last 10,000 to 11,000 hrs!, man o man, you owe it to yourself to try em.
Sts,The Grandmaster also has a proprietary dielecteic's, there is unimaginable sound difference between the 2 model's you are speaking of,I have the Zero Gold model, does it justify the cost between the model, The One, of course it does!
Hi sts, can one justify paying for an amp that cost $40,000.00 for 300 watts mono blocks like the Dan D'Agostino Momentum amp's?,depend's on if the rest of the system can reproduce what these amp's are capable of doing, it is the same theory with this cable.
Hi sts, what do you have now for gear? , how is sales of your cable's coming along?
Sts, fair enough if you are referring to sales of your cable's, I'm intrigued of knowing what you have for audio equipment, will you share that with me? , cheers.
Sts, have you seen this new cable Taralabs is making now for musicians?,PROFESSIONAL STUDIO CABLE

Making Sense of … Evolution Speaker Cables

Extreme Audio Systems and Extreme Performance Cables with Low Inductance

At TARA Labs, the major design goal for speaker cables is to reduce the inductance in the cable. However, there are some high-end amplifiers that need to 'see' some level of inductance (L) in the speaker cable. When the low damping factor of certain amplifiers is connected with (ultra-low inductance) TARA Labs speaker cables, the output of some high-end loudspeakers becomes audibly variable at different frequencies.

The phenomenon is readily apparent, heard as bass that is soft and low in amplitude, sometimes together with high frequencies that are too smooth or rolled-off. Basically, the resistance in the loudspeaker cable should be ultra-low, and the inductance (L) in the cable needs to be low but sufficient to provide a load to certain amplifiers. There is no ideal value for (L). It varies from system to system, just as impedance varies with frequency in most loudspeakers.

The loudspeaker cables carry much higher signal voltage and current into a non-linear impedance (the loudspeaker) ... so the reactive load of the loudspeaker can be difficult for some amplifiers to drive... and the all-important damping factor of the amplifier changes from amplifier to amplifier.

One of the great attributes of the OMEGA Evolution & Grandmaster Evolution Speaker Cables is their ultra-low inductance. The OMEGA Evolution & Grandmaster Evolution Speaker Cables are the 'state-of-the-art' in both technology and design from TARA Labs. Its performance level is absolutely spectacular when matched with the majority of high-end audio components available today. And as with an ever increasing introduction of new components into the marketplace, we have found over and over again that not every cable or component has the perfect symbiotic relationship with each other. In these particular instances, there are some amplifiers that need to 'see' some level of inductance (L) in the speaker cable. For certain loudspeakers and amplifiers, TARA Labs has produced another addition to the line-up with the Omega Evolution SP & Grandmaster Evolution SP speaker cables. These cables are designed to work exceptionally well with amplifiers with a low damping factor or loudspeakers with a very reactive load in the lower frequencies.

Another choice is the *OMEGA CX Evolution loudspeaker cable with its slightly higher inductance, used especially with wide-bandwidth amplifiers.

*The Omega Evolution CX model is a more affordable version of the Omega Evolution SP. Having similar characteristics as the “SP”, yet at a lower price. For the speaker cable that requires a higher inductance, or used with wide-bandwidth amplifiers, the Omega Evolution SP and the Grandmaster Evolution SP are the ultimate cable choices.

*The recommendations below are “just a few examples” to help guide the user in choosing the appropriate TARA Labs Evolution loudspeaker cables. These examples are meant as a guide only, and are based on load impedance for loudspeakers and damping factor for amplification. Call TARA Labs to discuss your system and any particular recommendations.

*NOTE – The above equipment samples are only meant as a guide to help advise you on the best cable for your setup. As with all TARA Labs cables, when you move up the line to more expensive models, the TARA Labs characteristics that our cables are known for such as neutrality and natural musicality is always present. What you will hear is additional high frequency extension, detail, musicality, fullness, etc.

CABLE CHARACTERISTICS

Omega CX - A very balanced set of LC parameters.

Omega Evolution & Grandmaster Evolution – These cables has extremely low inductance.

Omega Evolution SP & Grandmaster Evolution SP – Provides more inductance for certain models wide-bandwidth amplifiers and speakers that require addition inductance in their cables. Re posted from another thread, 10-28-15: Mikelavigne
I've recently jumped into the very deep end of the pool with interconnects for my 2 new dacs.

I purchased a set of Tara Labs Grandmaster Evolution w/HFX 1.5m XLR's for my Trinity Dac. these are the ones with the floating shield design and dual monoblock HFX ground system.

sorry to say that these cables indeed are the real deal. what they do is astonishing in terms of noise floor and revealing detail and musical refinement.

I've ordered another set of these in 2m RCA's for my Lampizator Golden Gate.

I wish they did not do what they do; but now that I've heard it there is no going back.

my system does allow for all the benefits of these 'uber' cables to come through. my new dart preamp enables them to shine.

crazy good!

don't listen if you might be tempted. I made that mistake.

wow!, My honesty got you worked up!, In the big scheme of things, you live in texas, that is one state, in the world wide audiophile community, Tara labs is well known and loved for their sound!, the tara cables you are tring to sale is a 20 year old discontinued version of the one interconnect!, That is amazeing that it holds 60% of it's sugested retail price,I assure you I do not buy cables that cost as much as the Zero Gold and Omega Gold, Cobalt power cord with oyaide terminations for some kind of self worth, you kidding right?, I believe a woman will do for that!, Amen, says the brothers!, The status of owning anything fine and well made that significantly is better than most will give any one prstige and status, in this case, when they have never heard a better cable such as Tara labs,it will have that effect!,I tell you what, here is a internet address you can go to and get all worked up all over again, http://www.whatsbestforum.com/showthread.php?15272-Taralabs-grandmaster-evolution-new-top-of-the-line-cables-from-Taralabs&p=276898#post276898 Read that and you will know it really is a closed in world you live in to believe that Tara labs is not Talked about and known through out the world as some of the top available cables money can buy!, the part I really do not understand is the FACT you know nothing of the top tier Tara labs cables, you have never listened to any of them!
I just wanted to show everyone that Tara Labs has just introduced, for the first time since the early 90s a new conductor in their state of the art flagship interconnect only, The Grandmaster Evolution interconnect, I am hopeing over the next few years this new technology trickles down in some new models that may be introduced over the next few years, The rest of all the new current Tara labs interconnects and speaker cables has the Generation 2 conductors that are excellent for audio as it is, so This here is the Brand new Generation 3 conductor, known as Gen 3,instead of Gen 2, this is a great topic for all of us to talk about concerning Tara labs, This is called,,,,, Making Sense of….Gen 3 Conductors

TARA Labs, Inc. has just announced the introduction of its Generation 3 Rectangular Solid Core® conductor, to be used exclusively in its state-of-the-art interconnect cables.

TARA Labs claims that the Gen 3 conductor has an increased bandwidth or high-frequency extension, that makes it unrivalled in important test measurements and listening tests.

TARA Labs’ Vice President of Product Design, Matthew Bond, said that the new Gen 3 conductor has the same current-carrying capability of a 28 gauge conductor but has the high frequency linearity of a 40 gauge conductor.

Matthew Bond explains why this is possible. “In a conductor with a rectangular profile, there is a huge reduction of ‘flux-linkage’ or ‘coupling’ of electromagnetic lines of force. These lines of force are created as the signal (music) passes through any conductor.” Bond said further, “In a round conductor there is a large center that tends to roll-off or attenuate much more of the high frequency information … this does not happen in a Rectangular Solid Core® conductor”.

According to Matthew Bond, the new Gen 3 Rectangular Solid Core® conductor is smaller than the current Gen 2 conductor used in most of TARA Labs’ audio cables. The Gen 2 conductor measures approximately 25 thousands of an inch wide and 12 thousands of an inch in height. Bond says that the Gen 3 conductor is about 66% of the size of the Gen 2 conductor, and that it is Super-Annealed™ to increase its conductivity.

Both the Gen 2 conductor and the smaller Gen 3 conductor are said to be Eight-Nines™ pure copper, which is 99.999999% pure. TARA Labs’ trademarks for this technology are 8N™ and SA-OF8N®. SA-OF8N means Super Annealed – Oxygen Free 8 Nines copper. According to Bond, the term ‘annealing’ refers to the method whereby a conductor can be made softer and more conductive.

TARA Labs is widely known as the leader in cable technology and audio cable design. They are based in Ashland, Oregon. All cables are hand-made in the USA.

Making Sense of …. Tara Labs brand new model Grandmaster Evolution Digital, just introduced to the model line-up,

The TARA Labs Grandmaster Evolution Digital Interconnect uses a pair of RSC® Gen 3 Rectangular Solid Core® conductors.

In the AES/EBU format, the conductors are critically spaced to ensure an exacting 110 Ohm characteristic impedance; this is the AES/EBU format used with XLR connectors.

The RSC Gen 3 conductors are smaller than the Gen 2 version, and this provides a more extended bandwidth for the digital signal.

The TARA Labs Grandmaster Evolution Interconnect uses a system of woven filaments constructed from small Teflon tubes, to expand and displace the shield further away from the signal carrying conductors.

In this way, the Grandmaster Evolution Digital Interconnect is able to reduce digital distortion, called ‘jitter’.

Jitter explains why Digital cables sound different from on to another.

The most significant reason for the different sound in digital recording and playback systems is the phenomenon of ‘errors’.

The most widely known error is called ‘jitter’. Jitter can be thought of as a timing error or a distortion of the digital bit-stream within the digital send and receive components and the digital interconnect cable.

The timing errors (digital jitter) can be reduced by using better quality cable with superior shielding to reject interference within the cable.
This is a more affordable interconnect that places 4th in the New Tara Labs model line-up, the only interconnect that has silver as part of the shielding, this is a new product, Pr. The 0.3 w/HFX - 1.0m3.3ft

Category: Extended Bandwidth - Interconnects

The 0.3 is a state-of-the-art analog interconnect cable using an all PTFE (Teflon) air-tube construction and a pair of helixed Rectangular Solid Core conductors. The extended Bandwidth technology is employed using a product design that has a perfect air-dielectric environment and minimal dielectric construction to extend the high-frequency bandwidth to provide a linear and uncompromising approach to the sound of the interface. A complex system of braided shielding made of pure copper and silver is used to control the RF and EMI interference. The shield is part of a specially designed Floating Shield System, where the shield floats at both ends of the interconnect cable. The floating shield is connected at the source end, to the HFX Floating Ground Station. The Floating Ground Station uses Ceralex devices internally to absorb and dissipate RF and EMI interference in the shield. This is done outside the signal path, and so the 0.3 Interconnect with an ‘out-board’ Floating Ground Station does not affect the high-frequency signal within the signal carrying conductors.

The 0.3 with the Floating Ground Station is designed for component interface of all extreme high-end audio components, but not always for electronics that have limited filtering. The sound of the 0.3 OnBoard Interconnect is tonally balanced, very linear with frequency, extended and airy in the high frequencies and very revealing.

This is a comment from musicman that went to CES two years ago about the Tara Labs Zero Gold I/C and Omega Gold speaker cables, musicman •2 years ago

I also think that some of the cable and amplifier prices are over the top, but saying that, I did hear both Nordost and TARA Labs at CES, and both were great! I did feel that TARA Labs was better than Nordost when it came to overall sound. Let's face it, this is a very expensive industry to be involved in. MBL, Rockport, Magico are extremely expensive gear to own. But if you have the money, and want the best, then you'll buy MBL< or Rockport, or TARA Labs. No matter what industry, the best will always cost more.
