Hello everyone,
I have been trawling Audiogon's forum and classifieds for a while now and it led me to purchase a pair of
Dynaudio DM 2/6 speakers so thank you all for your contribution there :-)
It's specs are:
- Sensitivity 86 dB (2,83 V/1 m)
- IEC Power Handling > 150 W
- Impedance 6 Ohms
- Frequency Response 50 Hz – 23 kHz (± 3 dB)
- Box Principle 2-way bass-reflex
- Crossover Frequency 1800 Hz
I am running them in now but I don't think my current amp (
Yamaha RX-V493 which can accept 4 Ohms and above) is cutting it.
I have several requirements:
- 1 x RCA Phono w/t Ground input for my Debut turntable
- 2 x Optical S/PDIF and Toslink (1 for tv and one for my PC)
- circa $600 USD budget
- I don't mind second hand
- Preference for Australia location or shipping options
- I listen to lots of classical, alternative, psychedelic, heavy rock but no techno or electronic via Vinyl and FLAC(some MP3 also)
- Compatable with a Logitec Harmony (so it must have volume, on/off and input switching to be controlled via remote)
After doing a fair amount of research I think that I have 2 simple options.
1. All in one stereo amp that contains optical ins and a on board DAC
2. A stereo amp with a separate DAC like this
Cambridge AzurI prefer the all in one option but that is only because of space saving. I really dont mind though as anything to make these speakers sing better would be a huge step up from what I have.
In my research I have heard many state that good amp choices are NAIM and REGA however both are out of my price range unless I get 2nd hand (which I am fine with). Here are some models that I have found that meet my requirements. I really feel like paying someone to find one for me hahaha. It is time consuming so I thank you in advanced for any suggestions.
-
Peachtree Decco 65 but cant do phono
-
Onkyo a 9050 but only a single optical in
-
Naimuniti 2 (out of price range but has some DIN phono connector...
Thanks for reading and I hope I provided enough info to not be annoying.
