Rhode Island stereo shops

I'm going to be spending a quiet week in Newport with my sweetie shortly after the start of the new year. Reading. Sitting by fireplaces. Going out to eat a lot. If we should feel like taking a little drive one day (Providence? elsewhere?) is there a smokin' hot R.I. stereo shop that we might want to visit? Thanks.

To bad about Providence not having a hi-end shop,my very first encounter with high-end gear happened to be a shop in Providence called Ocean State Audio back in the mid 80's,I remember it all to well "sound was to die for" VTL Pro-ac and I think VPI. In that (short moment) in time, I was hooked forever on quality play-back equipment...8^)

I think they still exist, now on Park Ave in Cranston (within the Providence metro area).

I bought my main system from them in the late '80s early '90s (still going, and going). Bruce turned me on to Quicksilvers.

Also been to Sound Images -- heard a great system there (my current reference): Art Audio Diavlo amp, Metronome CD player, Sonus Faber speakers; just gorgeous (and more than I wanna spend presently $-)

My bad. Saw an audioasylum post saying they shut down at the end of 2005.
