I moved to a Border Patrol SE-i and my experience suggests it will provide the soundstaging you were looking for. Reverting back to my TADAC while my BP was back for an upgrade really reinforced this for me.
Replacing TADAC Dac
I am wondering if there any former TADAC owners who moved on to another Tube (or not tubed) DAC and what your experience is compared to the TADAC. System is Hegel H200 integrated amp. Joseph Audio RM25xl's, Cambridge player, Acoustic Zen Satori cables. Love the sound I am getting from my system except I wish the soundstage was wider and deeper. Otherwise I am a happy camper with my system. Budget is up to about $2,500 new or used.
