Refurbished a Nakamichi 700 or 1000?

Any body have any experience upgrading, repairing or bringing a old Nak 700 or 1000 up to speck? In particular, any experience with ELECTRONICS SERVICE LABS, 1807 Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield, Connecticut 06109 USA,
jeff@nakamichi.us? They want $200 just to clean and test a deck and then a green light for repairs under $500. I have some limited use for cassettes, but wonder if their service is worth those dollars.
