Raise the Roof - Plant and Krauss

Just streamed the album last night. Loved Raising Sand and have been looking forward to this follow up some 14 years later. First few songs seemed out of place, but by end of album I am satisfied  - well done. I think I might recommend starting at about track 5 or 6 and picking up the first few tracks on the back end. YMMV.

I'm was streaming from Apple Music and thought the sound was not right, and sure enough it was playing back with Dolby Atmos. Switched DA off and lossless came thru. Way better. I don't think Dolby Atmos is very good for music. It just sounds wierd.

You should try to hear Dolby Atmos mix on a surround sound sytem (e.g. 5.1.2).

Tom Petty's Wildflowers reissue sounds fantastic in the Dolby Atmos mix.😁

My British Godfather who was a neigbor of the Queen in Kensington, was an ardent supporter of Mono. Audiophiles move slowly. 🙄

I received the album Friday. Listened to it first thing yesterday. I will admit my bias to anything Plant and state I loved every note of the entire song collection. Plant and Krauss will be playing a mile from my home on June 1st 2022. I saw them together the last time at the same venue during the Raising Sand tour. I am looking forward to it.

I had the fortune of meeting Plant two years ago after a show in Norfolk VA. Sat with him and some of the band at breakfast the next morning talking mostly about his love for the Wolverhampton Wanderers football team and how he has played and practiced with the team over the years. As they lelft he grabbed and shook the hell out of my chair, wished us a safe trip back to NY. After returning to NY I learned the man running his security crew while on tour is close with a friend of mine from Birmingham. Small world.

Alas, I digress, you are right, YMMV. I loved the latest release. And I am not a fan of ATMOS.
