Pure Silver Wire

If silver is so good to use why do we not see solid silver speaker cables? Price is not that high- 10ga diameter pure silver 6ft is just under $300. That makes a pair of speaker cables about $1,100 for material. I see the price of some of these cables on the market and $1,100 is a fraction of their asking price.

Chiming in with a recommendation for Darwin as well.  Started off with ArgentPur, it was great (I had speaker cable and prototype RCA).  I wanted to see if there was something similar in quality at a slightly better price. Someone on another forum topic had recommended Darwin, I checked them out and tried out one of their demo Truth II speaker cables.

To me, it sounded on par or perhaps even better than the ArgentPur (and they are great, don't get me wrong!).  So I tried some more: IC, power cord; both gave me the same improvements.

That was a few years ago, and I just got the latest delivery (my second set of Enlightenment speaker cables) yesterday.  Across several systems I now have Darwin cables in most.  Power Cords are Darwin and others mixed (TG Audio, Puritan as well).  But all IC's are Darwin (Truth II, Natural, and Enlightenment), and speaker cables are a lot of Darwin: Enlightenment in 2 systems, the ArgentPut in one, and Darwin Truth II (occasionally Black Cat Silverheart, a model created just before thew current line) in one as well.

The Darwin cables are not harsh, though if the recording or gear leans that way it will certainly expose it.  What is non-typical of these is that the bass control and extension is incredible; they are definitely not lean-sounding.  Top to bottom balance is the best I've heard, and the details within the stage that they bring out pull me right into the music.

Definitely recommend Darwin strongly.  Also recommend ArgenPur too like grk above; especially if you can get a good deal.  I found in my systems that Darwin was on par or better for less money though.

I’ve gone Darwin Natural for my IC and Speaker cables and couldn’t be happier. . Not to mention Bill at Darwin is an amazing guy. He is loaning my a pair of Enlightenment IC's and if I don't feel I hear a difference I ship them back, no loss (or just $10 to send them back)

I am using Audio Note DAC to Audio Note integrated. Feel the combo is perfectly balanced. the bass I’m getting out of my Living Voice speakers is tight and full. Best sound I’ve had from them yet.

The following is from a review of a Cable in both Speaker and Interconnect I have heard in use.

The first time I was to encounter the Speaker Cable was at a Speaker Cable Bake Off in a System costing approx' £40K+ using EAR Valve Amp's and Quad ESL Speakers with very worthy sources in both Analogue and Digital.

Speaker Cables were costing up to £1500 a Pair.

The True Silver Speaker Cables showed themselves as exceptional over other Silver Wired Cables and those in Copper.

The Info  below is to encourage a sleuth to find who is the US Producer of the Wire supplied to TSA?

" How to differentiate yourself in a market that’s crammed with apparently similar products? That’s the question that every cable maker has to answer if they are to succeed and one that TSA or True Signal Audio have failed to do with their choice of the brand name. TSA does, however, have an angle that is new to me at least, which is that it is owned by a larger (albeit unnamed) American company that produces cables for medical, military and aerospace industries.

The benefit that being part of a larger organisation brings is that the cables are made from the ground up, literally extruded from the bare metal, to create material combinations and topologies that are precisely what TSA requires. This is quite rare within the audio industry, where the majority buy from industrial manufacturers and have to commit to miles of the stuff in order to get the design desired, many use what’s available off the reel and work around it to achieve the end result.
