Please Help Solid State Amps ?

Hello Audiogoners,

I am in desperate need of advise! I am in need of Solid State amplification for a pair of Magnepans. The problem is I have been in TUBE LAND my whole audio life and I am clueless as to what there is available. I would prefer something in the realm of 200W MONOS but STEREO will also suffice. I am interested in both OLD or NEW, readily available or esoteric and most of all QUALITY! I thank you for your time and consideration.

My best,

I heard the BEL recently, and was extremely impressed. It is definitely on my short list of future auditions.

I currently own the GamuT D200. It is sensational!
Agree with the BEL recommendation. Would also recommend Llano Designs hybrids. Keep a tube preamp in the chain at any cost!

Good Luck.
Be carful with Llano Designs as noise and warranty may be concerns. as for the Bel, Aragon, and Bat amps they are all good values. If you want to be happy long term I believe the Sierra Audio Denali is the new king of the amps. retail is $7500. but I have seen one or two used for around $4500. It's big and it runs hot but nothing is built like it or sounds like it. Smooth sweet Mos-fet sound with resolution to dye for. highly reccomended. see "bound for sound" review.
I am a tube amp owner but if I were in the market for 200w mono's I would seriously consider the Job 200 mono amplifiers. They are the budget line of Goldmund. Go to jobsys.com.
