I know the feeling. The E Cards I'm using for the bedroom system were taken out of the family room TV system to try this experiment. Now, I don't want to take them out of the bedroom system What to do ... What to do?? |
^^^ uberwaltz ...
They seem to work everywhere tried by most who have tried them. Wish I could help out, but Vinyl and CD's only here. Oh wait ... I can try them under/over my PC to see if the SQ of Spotify is improved. I'll get back to you ...
Frank |
uberwaltz... I have a bedroom system that consists of my computer (PC), and a pair of Audioengine A2+ powered speakers. Just using the stock speaker cables that came with the speakers. I put E-Cards on top of the speakers, and on top of the PC. The results are very satisfying. 1. The computer screen has a much better picture. Great for cruising YouTube videos. 2. The music from my Spotify account is much better. The speakers completely disappear. The music has a lot more body. Better 3-D imaging. Lots of depth. The real payoff is how relaxed the music has become and how visceral human voice is. Love those sultry female ballads! :-) Listening to a live recording of Mel Torme at the moment. Delightful! I'll leave everything in place overnight and report back in the morning. Frank |

I don't have a streamer, strictly CD's and vinyl here. BUT I am using E Cards on my TV's satellite box and recorder to great benefit. Similar improvements from the two E Mats in the circuit breaker box. Better sound, better color saturation, and a clearer picture. Works really well on my 73" Mitsubishi rear projection TV. Maybe others can chime in on music servers.

lemonhaze ...
1. Try the Mat either way ... on top, or beneath the Oppo. 2. Try pasting the Oppo's connections ... the IC's and the PC. 3. I don't know the answer to the "steel box" question. 4. Yes, I did listen to every Filippa Giordano recording offered on Spotify. Thanks for the recommendation. She has a beautiful voice, no doubt. Unfortunately, the recordings are very processed, using too much artificial digital reverb for my taste. I like natural sounding recordings. A little of that reverb is ok, but too much is too much. I understand why many folks like it, as it makes the sound stage appear larger and more cavernous. Not my cup of tea though. I predict that once you have your system up and running using the TC and the E Mats that you will be hearing a lot more of that processing in some of your recordings as well. :-) Take care ... Frank |
On the reverb thing:
Natural reverb, like hall sounds, is fine with me. In fact, I enjoy it. It’s supposed to be there. Its when artificial reverb is added by the recording/mastering engineer for effect is where the problems occur. As an example, the original Patricia Barbara "Cafe Blue" album is saturated with artificial digital reverb. To me, it’s unlistenable. The 180-gram reissue is much better in this respect. I can take a little of it, but there is a limit.
Jafreeman is correct. With the addition of PPT products and the resulting lowering of the electronic hash/grain/noise, it allows one to more clearly hear into the recording to discern the natural sounds of the recording space.
With judicious use of Total Contact and multiple Omega E Mats, when playing the best recordings, some from master tapes, one can envision a transportation right into the recording venue.
As an example, I have a two-CD set of Rachmaninoff’s 2nd & 3rd piano concertos performed by the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra burned right off of the master tape. These recordings were never released commercially. They’re recordings of a Rachmaninoff competition with an amateur pianist (the winner of the contest) playing. Amazing performance and sound. The hall is very evident as are the individual audience members. I just sit back, hit "play," and get transported into the theater, trying hard not to catch the flu from the "coughers," "sniffers" and "hackers" sitting around me. :-)

yoby ...
I'm going to be placing some E-Cards on my transformers tonight. I'll report back with the results.
Go Rams!
Frank |
yobyI very carefully placed Omega E-Cards in certain locations inside the components, like on top of transformers and such. This is easy in my system as I leave the lids off of the components. Then I got the bright idea of putting E-Cards inside of the wall outlets. I removed the wall plates and found that there was just enough room to slide the cards in on both sides of both outlets. They just barely fit on the outside of the outlet’s internal box. Things are still "charging up" but my initial reaction is very positive. The noise floor continues to drop, revealing more infinitesimal details that were not evident before. Bass control is much better too. I’ve spent the entire morning listening to both female and male vocal recordings that I know very well. Voice inflections are improved, and the personality of the singers shine through even more than before. Backup singers and accompanying musicians are more clearly delenated too ... and I thought I had that in spades before the E-Card experiment. Who knew? *lol* By the way, both of these outlets were treated with Total Contact a couple of months ago. So the E-Cards are a further improvement over the TC. My friend Robert is coming over tonight for a listening session. I didn’t tell him about the placement of the E-Cards. He has a good ear and knows my system very well. We’ll see if he detects the improvements I’m hearing. Stay tuned ... Frank |
Well, the E-Card experiment is working out nicely. Like all of the PPT products, it takes time to reach full potential.
As reported above, I put E-Cards inside the equipment on top of the transformers and then also along the sides of the aluminum boxes that the receptacle fits into. Basically, the effect was to "charge up" the receptacles themselves.
The results during the listening session last night with my friend Robert was an even more solid 3-D effect and much better bass. Lower strings on orchestral recordings were really fleshed out. Gotta love bowed basses and cellos when they are aggressively and beautifully played through a good audio system.
The realism continues to advance. It was even better this morning. How much better can this get? I still can’t believe the sound I’m getting from a pair of Legacy Signature III’s. Amazing, really.
Thank you Tim and Krissy.
Frank |
I had about 1/4th of a tube of Total Contact left, so yesterday, I had a friend (fellow audiophile) come over to help me paste my circuit breaker box with "Total Contact." We pasted the mains, the grounds and the breaker that controls the audio system. That's as far as we got due to running out of TC. There was an immediate improvement in the overall sound. Again, the lowering of the noise floor was readily apparent. Where things were sounding great before in terms of transparency and 3-D layering, its even more so now. The separation of instruments and delineation of voices of back-up singers are more visceral than ever. Everything that was there before has been improved upon. I've never heard a system with this kind of silence. No grunge. No distortion. Just music. My friend Robert is coming over in about an hour with another person who is into audio. He's never heard my system before, so I'm really looking forward to the listening session. I'm kinda blown away by the improvement afforded by this latest pasting. I haven't told Robert about this latest TC application, so we'll see if he notices the improvement. - Important! My friend is experienced with electrical work, and I don't recommend that anyone without experience tackle the mains. They can be lethal if not handled properly. Hire an electrician to do the job if you're not experienced.
Happy listening, guyz. :-) Frank

David ...
Thanks for the tips on further pasting the circuit breakers. That's our intention when I get more TC.
We pasted the circuit breaker box this past Friday afternoon. I got up really early this morning and fired up the system. The improvement overnight is astounding. We all know how treating with Total Contact improves over time. There's that four/eight-week thingie that happens. I just can't fathom how good it's going to be then.
Frank |
So, it’s been a week or so since we pasted connections in the circuit breaker box with Total Contact. My friend Dave came over for a listening session last night. Dave is the audiophile friend who helped me paste the circuit breaker box. There was a definite jump in SQ over previous sessions. TC is funny that way ... it improves as the paste begins to cure. During the session, I dug deep into the record vault and pulled out three gems that haven’t been on the turntable or CD player for a couple of years. These recordings have been transformed into some kind of magical thing that defies reality. If you have them and haven’t played them since applying TC, E-Cards, and E-Mats, dig them out for a great listening experience. Here they are if you want to buy them: The first album is available on both vinyl and CD. Lee Oscar was the harmonica player for the rock group "War." This album is kind of a cross between jazz, rock and classical fusion. It plays huge. A music lover’s and an audiophile’s delight. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Lee-Oskar-Lp-1976-Harmonica-9-Songs-United-Artists-UA-LA594-G-G-VG/22301966...The second album is the soundtrack from the movie "Mission." It’s also available on both LP and CD. https://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Mission-Original-Soundtrack-from-the-Motion-Picture/273618867171?epid=1...The third album is by harpist Andreas Vollenweider. It's more jazz/rock/classical fusion. Amazing! https://www.ebay.com/itm/ANDREAS-VOLLENWEIDER-WHITE-WINDS-SEEKERS-JOURNEY-CD-CBS/382754290762?hash=i...I had no idea what kind of information was buried in these recordings. Prior to the TC treatments, E-Cards and E-Mats, they were really good. But now? Who knew? For all three albums, you will want to really crank up the volume, sit back and be totally immersed in sound. Highly recommended. Frank |

You don't know Steve's wife. She rocks out on both of the super nice systems Steve has put together. He's one of the lucky few. *lol*
Now then, take my wife... PLEASE, take my wife.

uberwaltz ... I’ve got a million of ’em. *lol*
My wife said that if I brought one more piece of stereo equipment home or one more LP, she’d leave me.
I kind of miss her sometimes ... :-)
And by the way ... I have a sub-panel in the master bedroom closet. I already had one E-Mat inside the panel door. I put another two mats in there for tonight's listening session. Wow! Another drop in noise ... and this one wasn't subtle at all. Amazing products coming out of PPT.
Frank |

^^^ Thanks, tuffy. More good stuff to come. Stay tuned. :-)
Frank |
Today is Tim's birthday? Who knew?
Happy Birthday, Tim. :-) |
Its been just about a week and a half since we pasted the circuit breaker, mains and all. Things continue to improve.
Had two audiophile friends over yesterday for a listening session. It ended up being an eight-hour session. My friend "Mas" brought some terrific vinyl reissues that really made the day. Dead quiet and wonderful sounding. It is amazing how good new vinyl, properly remastered, is today.
I've been experimenting with more E-Cards this past week, especially around the turntable motor and platter. Interesting results so far. More lowering of the noise that wasn't there. *lol* Plus, I place one more E-Mat in the sub-panel for good effect too.
Frank |
Steve (fleschler) ...
Try to find the time to come up for a listen. As a result of pasting the circuit breakers with TC, something special is going on. I think you'll like it and gain a little insight into what you have to look forward to in the new house. :-)
Frank |
Almost another week has gone by since the circuit breaker box was pasted with TC. The SQ continues to improve. Its not quite at the magic four-week point yet, so we are looking forward to that. Also, I added another E-Mat to the secondary circuit box in the master bedroom, for a total of three mats there. The noise in the system continues to drop with each mat added to the system. What's astounding is, just when I think there is no more noise to be removed, the noise is lowered even further. I put four E-cards around the motor of the turntable too. The jury is still out on that one. The noise is lower but it seems to have gained a little muddiness in the bass department as a result. That's nothing new with the PPT products. There are times when they are first applied, at least in my system, where the sound is degraded for one to a few days ... but then it comes back better than ever. This is especially true with the bass. Hey, you TC pasters, E-carders and E-matters ... do you have this album? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Don-McLean-American-Pie-1971-LP-Used/323699459108?hash=item4b5dfdc424:g:cvM...I dug it out last night for a friend during our listening session. I haven't played it in several years. It's really a great 70's classic rock record. If you've heard it, you know how good it is ... but NOW? Fantastic. Highly recommended. Frank |
jafreeman .... - "I coated the outside of the stranded braid thickly, thinking it would all spread out as the set screw flattened the wire outward in the barrel."
I think the thick coating may have something to do with the "problem." Only a thin coating is required. TC takes time to cure (dry) for it to be at its best. You've noticed an improvement over the past week, right? I think that's because your thick coating is starting to cure. It should continue to improve over time. That's my take anyway. :-) I'm approaching four weeks out from pasting the circuit breaker switches and the mains. What I'm hearing now is impossible. Truly impossible. I need more things to paste. :-) Frank |

I have had a similar experience with the Omega E-Cards. I have a card on each of the power cords where they connect to the equipment, and cards extending over the IC's where they connect to the equipment as well. Nice additional lowering of the noise floor was gained by doing so. A further gain was had by putting Omega E-Cards along the sides of my turntable motor. Frank |
resolution1 ...
The E-Cards are effective, but one E-Card doesn't equal the power of one E-Mat. I've found the E-Cards to be really convenient for fitting into places where an E-Mat wouldn't have a chance of fitting.
As an example, after pasting my power receptacles (wall sockets) with Total Contact, I was able to fit an E-Card on both sides of the aluminum "box" that contains the socket. They just barely fit.
Another example was fitting a couple of E-Cards to my outboard turntable motor.
The E-Cards can be laid on top of the power cords right where they enter the component. Same thing with IC's. I have them laying sideways across each pair IC's in the system also.
Honestly, with all of the Mats, Cards and TC, the noise floor of the system now stands at "amazing." :-)
Hope this helps ...
Frank |
Good to hear, Ozzy. I was wondering ... did you try putting two E-Mats in the circuit breaker box?
Frank |
Ozzy ...
My circuit breaker box is just a little larger than the size of an Omega E-Mat. So, I put two in there and just closed the door. Subsequently, I pasted the breaker switches and the mains with Total Contact. Putting the two mats in the box was really effective. I also have a sub-panel in the master bedroom closet. Putting two mats in there was a significant improvement as well.
The combination of the mats and the TC really complement each other. I suggest you contact Tim and get some TC and really go to town on your system. At this point, the noise floor of my system is beyond disbelief. No joke.
If you're worried about the TC degrading over time, don't be. I've had many of my connections pasted for over two years now, with no degradation at all. In fact, I think it just continues to improve.
Again ... congrats on your results. :-)
Frank |
Ozzy ...
As I said in a previous post ... the more mats, the better the sound gets. Try two or three in your circuit breaker box, as that seems to be the most effective place to start with them. Then add mats under your sources as the budget allows. Just keep stacking them up. *lol*
Also, the Omega E-Mats work really well in combination with PPT's Total Contact. Its a synergy kind of thing.
Although I've never tried them, based upon several reports from users, the MC-05's seem to degrade the effect of the Omega E-Mats. Not knocking the product here ... just reporting on what other's have shared with me.
The sound I'm getting from red-book CD's is absolutely fantastic. Its been a solid four weeks since we pasted the circuit breaker switches and the mains with TC. This is a phenomenal breakthrough in sound. I'm going to attempt to get several A'goner's over for a listening session this coming week and they can report here what it's all about. Zowie!
Mas, MriBob, and Steve ... you guys have to come over to hear what's going on here.

So, you just assumed that the magnet part of the mat is the effective part of an Omega E Mat. Then you went out and bought similar material and expected to get the performance of a real Omega E Mat, is that correct? And now, because of your failed results, you come into the thread to knock the real product? How utterly stupid of you! The MAGNETIC materials used for the E-Mats has NOTHING TO DO WITH THEIR PERFORMANCE. NOTHING! The only reason the material is used is that it adds substance to the product. I’ve said that numerous times in this lengthy thread. Had you paid attention, Elizabeth, you could have saved yourself a lot of time, effort, and some money. Originally, the Omega E-Cards were made with the refrigerator magnet material as well. They were smaller and less effective than the larger E-Mat due to being one-tenth the size. Anyone who has received recent editions of the E-Cards will tell you that they now use stainless steel for the backup material instead of the refrigerator magnet material. So, based upon that, Elizabeth, go out and buy sheets of thin stainless steel and put them under your components and see what the results are. I’m LMAO at your naivety. Conversely, stainless steel could be used for the Omega E-Mats too with the same results as before. But ... why add all of the weight unnecessarily? Also, the magnetic side is really convenient for placing them up against something vertical like the inside of a metal circuit breaker box door. It’s nice to have them stick to the sides of metal material without them slipping off. Wolfie sez: - What, exactly, does an Omega Mat do? How does it do it?
1. Exactly?? ... They lower the noise floor dramatically. That’s what all of the PPT products do, and they complement each other while doing it. Use the Total Contact paste as directed, then add Omega E-Mats and/or Omega E-Cards to increase the performance of each. 2. Call Tim at his contact number. I’m sure he would gladly give up all of his insights, formulas, secrets of how his present products work, and also reveal his ideas about future products coming down the line. Call him, Wolfie, I’m sure he’d be more than happy to receive your call. oldtech0 sez: Removes money from your bank account as well as lowering the noise floor to -200 db or lower by proximity. They certainly do remove money from bank accounts, oldtech, I’ll give you that. And ... the bad news is that they are cumulative. The more Omega E-Mats you stack up, the better the results. Don’t know how you measured to get your -200db results, but I can tell you this ... place two Omega E-Mats in your circuit breaker box, then one under each component and look out for a major, very pleasant, surprise. Stack four E-Mats in your circuit breaker box and six or more Omega E-Mats under each component, fire up your system, put on your favorite demo recording and you will have an adult diaper experience. Stay tuned guys ... more genius products are coming soon from the fertile mind of our friend Tim Mrock. :-) Frank |

Fanboy here. Just a simple question: You were offered a free sample of PPT products to try for yourself and you turned it down. Why? Frank |
- Geezus ... who’s attacking whom here? ^^^
And by the way, just for the record, here's my disclaimer from the post where I talked about my friend pasting the circuit breakers and the mains:
Important! My friend is experienced with electrical work, and I don't recommend that anyone without experience tackle the mains. They can be lethal if not handled properly. Hire an electrician to do the job if you're not experienced. Frank |
elizabeth ... There is nothing "magical" about the PPT products, nor is Tim Mrock an "alien." There are solid principles at work here that are beyond my ability to explain them to you. I spent an entire career in sales and could care less about physics. You really should call Tim for an explanation ... as far as he would be willing to explain or reveal to you. Seriously, for you, or anyone else, to come into this thread and knock the product without ever trying it for yourself is ludicrous. Even more ludicrous is your caution to those purchasing Tim's products. With the exception of "Total Contact," there is a money back guarantee. So, where's the risk? Frank |

oldtech0 Your diatribes seem familiar to me. Were you posting earlier, say a year ago, under a different handle? Just wondering ... Frank |
This is devolving into a bunch of insults. Not necessary.
Oldtech ... what is your intent here? I'm beginning to think you may be a friend of a competitor, or perhaps the competitor himself.
You wouldn't happen to be making magic plug-in devices by any chance, would you? Or, maybe you're that Mad guy who lives in Australia? Hmm, come to think of it, I've never seen both of you in the same place at the same time. Curious ... very curious ...

^^^ Ah, and once again, The One who sees himself as Captian America, with the patriotic duty of skipping from an audio site to audio site, in an effort to save the Great Unwashed from blowing their money on scams and snake oil.
Keep up the comedy routine, oldtech, its quite entertaining.
I was wondering, what's your advise on power cords and aftermarket fuses?
Frank |
oldtech0sez ... - "That is Captain America to you Frank. Advice??"
Nope, I believe you suffer from delusions of grandeur and see yourself as Capitan America. You know, the saintly chap with the superior intellect, garnered at a college that sets you above the Great Unwashed, while you go around saving the world from all of those boogymen who prey on the uninformed, the weak, the women, the less fortunate in society ... and especially those who may want to spend their own money on what you see as bunk. Advice? Yes, take a long look into the mirror and have a genuine heart to heart talk with yourself. Ask yourself the question of why it is that you have such an inflated sense of importance. At this point, I won’t get into the psychological reasons that some people find pleasure in attempting to destroy the dreams of other’s, or take pleasure in burning viable businesses down ... or keying luxury cars left unattended in parking lots. We can cover all of that later if you continue to persist in your negative, offensive diatribes. Now, please ... try to be a good citizen and treat folks with respect on these forums. Thanks ... Frank |
Elizabeth ...
With all due respect, you’re mistaking enthusiasm for "fake praise," and "fake love."
No one in this entire lengthy thread ever made the assertion of "perfection." Perfection would only be attained with live musicians in the room.
On your position that only 44 people have bought the products doesn’t take into consideration those sales that have been made off-line and in private, and not through A’gon. Also, many of those sales you speak of consisted of multiples of E-Mats, E-Cards, and tubes of TC.
Take it for what it’s worth ... Tim isn’t hurting for business. In fact, it just continues to grow ... and quickly. Why? Because his ideas are revolutionary and really make a significant improvement, even in modest systems like mine.
Tim is working on more products as the ideas occur to him. Products to be released down the line are true game-changers.
I had A’gon member mribob over tonight for a listening session. His speakers alone cost more than my entire system. His would be known here as a "Mega System to Die For." If he’s true to form, he’ll be posting tonight’s experience here soon. Stay tuned.
Frank
PS: Of course I have an above average percentage of posts in this thread. 1. I’m retired and have a lot of time on my hands. 2. I have acquired friends here. 3. I have to keep fending off the danged naysayers. *lol* :-) |

What I don't understand is how, or why, people continue knocking a product that they haven't seen, felt or heard for themselves. Or why they attack personally anyone who has experience with said products and found them to really enhance the SQ of their systems. I just don't get it. Sorry.

Bob ...
Thanks for the kind comments on what you've heard at my place. I've been concentrating on improving the digital in the system and didn't think about playing an LP for you. I wish you were here last night.
Robert brought over some really great sounding records from his "private stash" of "Not To Leave The House" records. Robert calls the music on the records "mood music with a twist." Dead quiet, with the orchestra in the room. Very dynamic. The massed strings were flowing through the room. No stridency at all. Kind of like sitting in the middle of the string section. The speed of percussion and plucked strings were to die for.
The next time you come over Bob, I'll throw on some vinyl for you. Pretty darned amazing.

"STOP IT"
Over the past two days, I've been reviewing a new product from Tim Mrock's Perfect Path Technologies called "STOP IT."
"STOP IT" is shorting plugs that have received the PPT treatment.
They fit into unused RCA jacks in the rear of your components. They are gold in color and look quite attractive once installed. I'm using a complete set of 22 of the "STOP IT" plugs. The total went into the rear of the CD player and the line stage, replacing a complement of Cardas shorting plugs.
As I stated before, the PPT products are cumulative in nature, so I'm basing the results here on the fact that I'm already using PPT's Omega E Mats, Alpha E-Cards and the judicious use of Total Contact contact paste.
Everything is system related, so I'm speaking for my system only. Your results should be similar if you are using PPT products.
Upon initial listening, there was an immediate additional lowering of the noise floor, revealing more subtle nuances in the music. As a result, the dynamics were improved, the speed of the leading edges of guitars and standup bass also improved. Most noticeable was the smallest detail of female vocals.
Most of my listening to new products is done with vocals because it is the instrument most of us are most familiar with. The "STOP IT" devices allow one to hear all of the subtleties of the voice like throat and mouth sounds. The slight raspiness of the sultry singer, the moist sounds as the words are formed, and the various pressures of air as the singer lends emotion to the words come through like never before. Good stuff that reaches out for realism.
I'm a guitar freak. It is an instrument that has always appealed to me - especially blues, classical and flamenco guitar. With the PPT products in place, the system was already really getting there as far as the natural sound of guitars is concerned. The "STOP IT" plugs have pushed things over the edge toward real guitars. The dynamics, from softest strumming strokes to wild plucking comes through big time. The leading edge speed is right there too. Dynamics galore.
I love harmonica and chromonica music. Anyone who has Willie Nelson's "Stardust" album knows what I mean. Any Charlie McCoy fans out there? I know the sound of the live instrument very well, as I've been playing it myself since I was nine years old. The way the system is now, with the addition of the "STOP IT" devices, things are really getting close to what I hear live. The subtle slow bends and that unmistakable reed sound is amazing now. Get Robert Bonfiglio's "Live at The Grand Canyon" album to see what I mean. It is a wonderful recording. Demo quality, really.
The "STOP IT" product is cost effective. They are ten dollars each, with a minimum purchase of ten units to offset the cost of postage. There is no minimum when purchased with other PPT products. Like all PPT products, with the exception of Total Contact, there is a ninety (90) day return policy. Use the A'gon store, the PPT website, or contact Tim directly for further information.
Highly recommended.
