New Omega E Mat from Perfect Path Technologies

Many of you own or have read of the highly-regarded PPT Omega E Mat, one of Tim Mrock’s revolutionary signal-enhancing accessories. Just prior to his untimely passing, Tim had finished developing a new generation of his Omega mat, soon to be available. Krissy Mrock has asked a few of us to introduce this new mat, here given the working title of The Double Omega.

In distinguishing the Double Omega, we know the original Omega, herein called the single, as a 7.5” by 10”, rather heavy and somewhat pliable mat, a bit more than 1/8” thick and with a vinyl-like feel. One face is glossy white, displaying the PPT logo and Omega name, while the other is black, smooth and magnetized. Sandwiched between these faces is the active material that causes components to reject the EMI that saturates everything in our surroundings. The Double Omega is much the same, with one important difference: the magnetized face has the finely-textured feel of around, say, 220-grit sandpaper. This texture, it is presumed, comprises yet a second active layer of EMI rejection. Presumed—because working details of the Double Omega are not well understood—better yet to know how to apply it.

With the understanding that the single Omega E mats generate field effects from both faces, mats have typically been placed under and over components and vertically over circuit breakers. How you apply the Double Omega will depend on best use and experimentation. In my case, I have removed two single mats, lying side-by-side, from the top of my large Wadia CDP and have replaced those with two Double Omegas. The Wadia is a one-box player that contains a pre-amp, so I wanted that second, strong field effect exerting downward as well as upward. I also have several singles placed underneath, just as before. Going straight to amps, this player is my only source, so I want it fully protected from EMI. Your priorities will differ.

As of this writing, I am only thirty-hours in on placing these Double Omegas, and I can already tell you they are powerful in their prevention of EMI within my digital source. Yet another veil has been lifted—all instruments and voices are even more sorted out in the aural space with new information heard within that space. There is much more decay heard against a new silence behind and between the musicians. I am already so pleased and excited about what the Double Omega E mats are doing. As Krissy told me, Tim was really stoked to have these new mats available. Rather than wait for the the fourteen-day window of improvement, I want to get this intro out so others can relay their experiences sooner.

Are you familiar with the expression, “If the rule you followed brought you to this, of what use was the rule?”?
It is modus operandi for skeptics to troll threads that are discussing controversial or new tweaks. Dreaming up as many ridiculous arguments as they can. But much of what was posted by “skeptics” on this particular thread is reminiscent of the famous Einstein and Heisenberg debate on the dodgy subject of quantum mechanics. God does not throw dice, Einstein steadfastly declared. Of course, Heisenberg, who was the author the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle, at age 26, argued the opposite, you know, since quantum mechanics, even at that point in time 1926, expressly declared that the atom, subatomic particles and solid objects all obey physical laws that are probabilistic, I.e., the opposite of what Einstein argued. Einstein refused point blank to accept the uncertainty principle and tried to think up cases where the principle would not hold. Even when Niels Bohr could not shake Einstein. This went on for many days until Einstein’s friend Ehrenfest intervened and chided Einstein, telling him his arguing against quantum mechanics was as irrational as when people argued against his own relativity theory. Nevertheless, Einstein stubbornly refused to change his views, then or any time until his death many years later. That’s the way it goes sometimes.
Frank, you’re kidding, right? What would atdavid (Ethan) say to his friends?
atdavid got PMs telling him not to be bullied. Yeah, right. And the prez got some tweets telling him not to be bullied. 🤗
Once they have gotten a foothold in your house they’re very difficult to get rid of.
Define rounded. Define warm. Define bright. Define forward. As Bob Dylan said they’re only words and have different meaning to people. If I say a house, some people think of a white New England house with a white picket fence. Others think of a California bungalow.
Einstein mistakenly thought the majority of his German colleagues subscribed to his theory of relativity. But he found out he was wrong, that in fact there was considerable resentment and outlandish reactionary statements such as Einstein’s theory was hostile to the German spirit. His response was an example of defensiveness under pressure, though perfectly understandable, “My answer to the Antirelativity Theory Company Ltd.: I have good reason to believe that motives other than a desire to search for truth are at the bottom of their enterprise.”
“What did you do?” Hey, what a coincidence! That’s exactly what I would say to some of my customers after discovering their Sound Quality has deteriorated to as bad as before I raised it up the last time I was there. What did you do to ____ it up? Audiophiles are not very good at following the instruction, “Don’t touch anything,” I’ve noticed. That is the main reason I don’t go around house to house like I did in the old days. Now I let the Teleportation Tweak do the walking for me. 🚶🏻

I suspect audiophiles generally believe their systems just get better and better, right? Nobody ever comes over and says, what did you do to ____ your system up, right? Fortunately at the shows there is usually at least one person honest enough to tell the exhibitor your system sucks!
Somebody. Just not reviewers or dealers since, you know, they don’t want to make any enemies. Which is what almost everyone is at CES, reviewers and dealers. Besides, after an hour of listening to those systems their bodies and brains shut down.
There are four basic Freedoms in audio. Freedom of vibration (mechanical waves). Freedom of RF (electromagnetic waves). Freedom of magnetic fields. And Freedom of information fields.

OK, I’m starting to see. 👀 The eMats are directional. Right? Or do people just like the label showing as a conversation starter? I also am understanding now that much time is required for eMats penetrate to the electronics. That’s interesting but can someone explain why the eMats take so long on circuit break panels, you know, where there aren’t any electronics? also, what exactly are the eMats doing to the electronics? Any guesses? Final question, are the eMats curing? Is that what takes so long? Has vibration control been eliminated? Last question, is it true the eMat can be effective just sitting out in the room, say on the floor or on a coffee table?
That’s so cute! One skeptic trying to convert another skeptic. What in the wide world of sports is a-goin on here?

Spintronics (the direction electrons spin around the atom i.e. quantum physics), you want to get the electrons spinning as uniformly as possible in the signal passing through your components, cables and speakers....At some point, I’ll probably get more E-Cards and put them along my speaker cables and crossovers just to keep that spintronic effect uniform all the way to the drivers.

>>>>The electrons spinning around the atoms are not the (free) electrons in the conductor, you know, the ones that hardly move. Also, the signal is not electrons, it’s photons.
The mat was described by the inventor as “solid state.” Is that where all the confusion with Spintronics started?

A photon checks into a hotel. The bellhop asks, “Can I help you with your luggage?” The photon replies, “I don’t have any. I’m traveling light!”
Huh? I never implied directly that the eMats worked by quantum mechanics. I was only asking questions. WA Quantum Chips I assume contain quantum dots but am not 100%. The Intelligent Chip I’m 99.99% sure contains quantum dots. I was merely speculating.

Graphene has many applications. It’s used in my tennis racquet for example. But that doesn’t mean eMats work by Spintronics which, if I understand correctly in quick search, is used in magnetic tape heads and quantum computing. It doesn’t make sense that current in audio systems “carries information” - it’s just current. The article is frankly suspicious, if you ask me. Lots of folks think electrons are the thing traveling rapidly in audio cables or that they are the signal but they’re not.

Joke. Why did they two physicists work in a tiny little garage? Because they were quantum mechanics. Get it?

Would that be real photons or virtual photons?

>>>>They are real photons. You know, like X-rays and gamma rays and microwave RF.
Before we get too carried away with fullerenes and Shungite please read the following,

Shungite is a black, lustrous, non-crystalline mineraloid consisting of more than 98 weight percent of carbon. It was first described from a deposit near Shunga village, in Karelia, Russia, from where it gets its name. Shungite has been reported to contain trace amounts of fullerenes (0.0001 < 0.001%).[1][2]

On a related topic, one wonders if fullerenes got its name from The Bobby Fuller Four, best known for the song, I Fought the Law (and the Law Won)
Just as I suspected. You’re about two paradigm shifts behind the power curve. They’re real and they’re spectacular!
We’ve known for quite some time - more than 25 years - audiophiles sometimes don’t get the results they were expecting for a number of perfectly valid reasons, not all of them flattering to the end user.
I don’t wish to cast dispersions but it appears Frank has become glubson’s new straight man. I don’t find anything wrong with that, I always liked Abbott and Costello.
Trick question, what do you think the mats are doing when placed on back of speakers in line with the drivers?
My Walkman 🚶🏻will beat whatever piece of junk you have. I’m not hot doggin ya! 🌭
That’s weird. As I understand it the Audio Magic Pulse Gen ZX thingamabib is an RFI eliminator. So, wouldn’t the Cards and the Audio Magic Pulse Gen ZX be compatible?
sbayne
I agree they work well together and probably have similar tech.

Really? What do you think the tech is?
So, here’s my question. After charging up the Mat and 4 Cards in the breaker box for two days I found the sound to be much better. Should I expect further improvements after placing the charged-up Mat and Cards back in the system?
Conversely, the charge on the Mats and Cards obtained in the breaker box might discharge, as it were, when removed and put back in the system. Then you’d be back where you started from. 🔙
Two layers of Graphene is not Graphite. It’s bilayer Graphene. Multiple layers of Graphene are not graphite either. There is no prohibition against using two or more layers of Graphene.
An innocent question. How can a sheet of Graphene UNDER a component shield, absorb or otherwise prevent RF from entering the component through the top or through the sides? RF has no charge so it cannot be attracted like a magnetic thing. Yes, I know what you’re thinking: “The steel or aluminum chassis acts as an RF shield.” Well, if that’s the case, then the chassis bottom should do the same, no?
You have to ask yourself what am I buying on the internet or eBay? There are lots of folks selling Graphene. Graphene powder, Graphene flakes, graphene oxide powder, Graphene in solution, Graphene oxide sheets. Multi-layer Graphene. There is one 5x5 inch Graphene oxide sheet for $159. Who knows what you’re really getting? Everybody’s doin it, doin it, everybody’s chewin it, chewin it. 🤗
If I were RF I would just do an “end run” around your quartz crystal. Have you considered that the (strong) piezoelectric effect of quartz is acting as a resonance controller as opposed to an RF absorber or blocker? RF has no charge and no mass so how can a crystal absorb it or block it. RF would flow around 🔄 the quartz crystal. An end run. Quartz is not a Bounty Towel for RF.
Teaser. RF is massless and charge-less. It always travels at the speed of light in a vacuum. Sound familiar? 😳

ivan_nosnibor
Or else, they seem to work for maybe everything but RF. But, if I’m having RF problems, then I haven’t identified them with my ears yet.

>>>>>>How can you know you’re having RF problems by the sound? What does RF interference sound like?

ivan_nosnibor
But, the home environment is not a vacuum. RF can be reflected or blocked, can it not??

>>>>>The home environment is not a vacuum but it’s almost a vacuum. RF travels at almost the speed of light in air and at a very high percentage of the speed of light in solid materials like glass, wire, insulator. The reason I mentioned that RF travels at the speed of light in a vacuum was part of my teaser, what is RF? What is the only particle that always travels at lightspeed in a vacuum?
RF can enter unused wall outlets, openings in electronics like unused RCA plugs. RF can be reflected and is ultimately absorbed by room surfaces, but we are under a continuous barrage of RF, even from microchips and house AC. RF constantly illuminates the entire room like a Christmas tree🎄
While I do think it’s true that there are many sources of noise and distortion I actually don’t think we are able to distinguish one source from another. In short, the audible effects of RF are similar - or may be indistinguishable from - the effects of vibration and “other sources” of noise and distortion. When you ASSUME something you make a fool out of me and Uma Thurman. 💃
When the wife hears it that’s kind of the sine qua non of audiophile validation.
