Nakamichi PA-7 Power cable replacement/IEC conversion question

Morning!

I've just acquired a PA-7 and it's in great shape functionally & physically, aside from the attached power cable, the outside jacket is cracking and falling apart. Of course replacing an attached power cable is not difficult, and I will likely take it to Doug at D'n'A Electronics to get the work done, but my questions are:

1. Through the cracks I can see what look like 2 solid conductor wires, plus 2 perhaps ground wires wrapped in a thin cloth material, spiralled around the conductors, maybe a custom design? Is there a specific spec power cable I need as a replacement?

2. Is it possible to convert it to IEC so that it will take an aftermarket cable? I have a Pangea AC-9 SE that I would love to try out with the amp.

If there are any known mods/updates to the amp worth performing while it's on the bench, I would love to know as well! For those that will ask it is the first version, not the MK 2.

Cheers,

Hard to tell from the photo of the NAK PA-7 if the plug is polarized. It doesn't look like it is

That plug is polarized; mine has a ground plug also, hence a three pronged plug

My local guy has worked on a few of these over the years. I'll post what he says when I hear back from him here.
