Modding the PS Audio Directstream DAC MK1 and MK2
I would like to continue discussing all the mods we have created for these two DAC's as it seems PS Audio is no longer allowing discussions about them on their forum.

Have you heard the news, the DSD MkII is going to be discontinued and replaced by the PMG Signature DAC which will be coming out in July I believe. Kinda sucks for those who recently purchased one. Oh and no more firmware updates either for the DSD MkII. I would imagine any remaining stock will discounted and sold through The Music Room at some point.

It would be hard to believe that the new DAC could sound better than modded MK2 or Mk1 limited edition. With the latest Blue Sky and our MK2 mod it is an awesome sounding DAC. New firmware is not needed. The new DAC will also not be offering any new firmware updates. We have compared it with DAC's costing may times more and it always comes out on top.. I still believe the DAC's Ted Smith designs will be hard to beat. |
