McIntosh MVP 841/851 as a DVD player?

I know it's a good CD player, but how does it stack up as a DVD player? Any comments welcome.

The Mcintosh as a DVD is first class and I like it much better than anything else I have owned or personally seen or auditioned. The picture is as clear and defined as I have ever seen. The Panasonic is no slouch but doesn't get much viewing time except by my kids.
