Is participating in this Forum infringing on and spoiling some of your listening time?

I think the question is listening vs reading. I have a great system that I adore. However, I regularly check my email, read the news and then go to this Forum… all while listening to music. All while not giving my undivided attention my music time.

I do look up frequently and marvel but get it gets a bit boring to just look at the space between the speakers.

Think my eyes need to be engaged as well as my ears. 
When at a live performance, I do watch the performers. I don’t close my eyes and just space out.

However, I do frequently enjoy listening to my system and going into a meditative space. But while involved with the Forum, etc, I do split my attention.

I listen at about 75% and not at 100% when l’m on this site playing music at the same time. The music is just in the background and not up front. So l can listen but not so intensely when reading or writing. 

l don’t think anyone can concentrate AND hear music completely if they are doing anything else at the same time. You must Zombie out everything else to completely enter the 100% music immersion appreciation society.

I believe that multi-functioning with Audiogon or anything else will not adversely effect your ultimate music enjoyment trip/fix unless you are incapable of imitating a zombie.

Nope the stereo is playing  as I read on and on and on....

Yup. If I’m here, I’m not listening regardless whether stereo is playing. If I’m listening, I’m not here. I don’t divide attention and I don’t do background music except for diner parties. Music is about the only thing that can hold my attention.
