@ grey9hound,, What an offer!, I would have to see if I can, right now it does not look good because of money, Krell may be tring to make me pay $400.00 for a fricken box with fitted foam for the Krell 700cx to be shipped back!, they puposely tore up my reuseable box with professional reuseable shipping material I already had shipped to them!, needless to say, I am very pissed off at the situation!, They may even try to discard the skidd I paid good money for and the rachet tie downs I used, One thing you can believe or my name is not audiolabyinth!, that shitt is not going to fly!, My carrier will not except the amp off the skidd or not rachet tie downed to the skidd, They will have to do what I want or I cannot get my amp back!,, now you see why my earlier post about krell was not good so far, I am hopeing that this issue will be resolved a.s.a.p. and all gos well from there!,, happy listening! |

@ grey9hound, Hi, When I first got the amp, we just rented this house,the receptical in the listening room that we hooked the amp up to had 220 on it, thats how we blew the amp up the first day we had it!, of course I did all the electrical work to fix the electrical problem my self, that way I know its done right!, the cd-players had nothing to do with it!, I am good at watching componets go up in smoke!, the krell, now the Ayon!!,, cheers! |
@ waxwaves, Very cool write up!, good or bad!, you need the Taralabs the one a/c power cord!, I did tell you that from the beginning!, for your amp, Thou the Decade can handle your amp!, I did tell you up-front it did not have the bass or body!, every thing else sounds great, remember me telling you that!,, sometimes we have to bite the bullet and spend more money on a cable waxwaves!, thats if you want to use Taralabs!, you have alot to catch up too!, there has been three people between the two threads that have full loom Taralabs cables, from the one on down with good effect!, they love them!, and have had the set-up a very long time!, Happy listening! |
@ Isochronism, The reason I asked if you have tube products, Is most likly you would know about tubes,LOL!, I would like to know if you know of any digital players that are none 6h30 tubes players, that use a different type tube all together that can be run direct to amplifier?, and If not, do you know much about modright?, Do you think it may be possible for a mod company like Modright to modify An Ayon 2s player that uses the 6h30 tubes inside to be reworked to use a different type of tubes?,, thanks, Cheers! |
@ Grey9hound, Hi, I met the criteria for return shipping on a triple layerd box with all reuseable material!, Krell thought because of the box was smashed down, they have to charge me $300.00 dollars for their box made for the 700cx!, believe me when I say this!, I bessed them out and told them that was B.S.!, that their box will smash down when they use my rachet tiedowns to return my amp!, and, BTW, they was not going to use my skidd or my tiedowns!, I told them to listen and listen good!, I said, My shipping carrier that I use, Is where my return addresse is for my amp, will in no way accept eanything thats not on a skidd and tied down with rachet tiedowns that is heavy electronics!, And I told them, under NO circumstances do you attempt to send my amp back without it back on my skidd and useing my rachet tiedowns on the amp to the skidd!, I told them of the story from last year, when ups smashed multi-thousand dollar speakers in my moms driveway!, the dealer gave me a refund and then the dealer had to sue ups!, I never got any speakers, just my money back!, that said, Krell said they will do as I asked them, or I will not have them ship the amp back, LOL!, they use ups!, thats why I have them taking the amp to my carriers Dock!, Krell is going to do what I asked they said!, and, At the last moment before shipping back, I will make sure of this my self!, they destroyed my shipping material just to charge me the $300.00 dollars extra!, you better believe for that kind of money, I will use that made for the krell 700cx box 4-ever!, cheers! |

@ Grey9hound, I agree!, We should not have to pay for a new box!, I still may look into that, I want to keep the peace till they get done with the amp, LOL!, you do not upset the mechanic while they are working on a car, same principal!, I want The job done right with the amp!, then we get to what I should pay for, I am sure they will make me pay for the box eanyway,, one thing is certain, I will not allow in no way let them ship my amp back without being on my skidd and tied down to the skidd with my rachet tie downs, thats a fact!, or they will buy my amp period!, I made that very clear to them!, I will also make sure of this right before shipping the amp back to me, so their will be no foul ups on there part!, Its just like dealing with the auto dealership!, sure, they can do a great job on the car, and the end of the day, they still have no common sence and you have to make sure of this and that!,,, stay in touch my friend!,, cheers! |

@ Grey9hound, Hi, I will be putting the cobalt on the Ayon 2s, After market power cords are 15 or 20 amp cords, The Krell uses a 30 amp captive cord, the after market cables most likly will not work, since I am going to use a 25 to 30 amp breaker now up on krells request to make the amp run properly, I was useing a 20 amp breaker, Krell said that was part of the problem of the amp running hotter, It was starving for power!, Dennis, I guess I will get my amp back by september or earlier,Its not because of krell, Its us paying for it!, We do miss the amp!, Its not that bad to have peace and quite!, I did go thru 9 months without a system recently, I will not be going thru that this time!, after that, 2 or 3 months is nothing!, If you get to many maters and corn, I will pay for shipping on some!, the sqaurls eat every thing in our yard! we planted last year, the varmonts won!,, cheers! |

@ Grey9hound, Hi, waxwaves turned me onto a company called AV Audio a couple of months ago, turns out he gave a great recommendation, no I did not purchase nothing yet, but I have found that waxwaves is on yo something here!, the airsine cables are likly the best bang for the buck in te market place, the airsine power cord especially!, I wanted you to know this Dennis, I know Taralabs are one of the best!, This company has alot of my attension too!,you should go to their site, you can build your own cables from the material they will sell you!, and they sell numerous resonance control brands and other stuff!, tell me what you think if you visit the site., the top of the brand power cord, the airsine 6ft power cord is $800.00 new retail!, when you read about the science and reviews like I did of this power cord, you should get the same dose of shock as I did!, LOL!, cheers to you Grey9hound! |
Opps, I stand corrected, thanks waxwaves, I did mean VH Audio, The airsine power cable is a buget cable to me!, $800.00 for 6ft!, are you kidding!, the cobalt I bought into is $5,450.00 for 6ft with the oyaide plugs!,, Btw, Grey9hound and waxwaves, I got my Krell 700cx estimate to be renewed inside, and now out side to!, please sit down, I fell out!, $3,157.38 that includes shipping back to me!,, I will have $11,300.00 in this amp!, Its new!, The service manager, My bud, Ray, said this amp will take 500 hours to break in ,, just like new!,, I know, I know, I feel stupid, oh well, I will know what we got!, they also said they had to put 6 parts inside that was bad too, that was my problem with my amp, and that sound ideas in florida put caps inside that have to come out eany way, Krell said that they were the WRONG SPECIFICATIONS!, so, My original request to renew the amp turn out a good one!, they said that I have never heard my amps over the top performance before, since the day I got it, I blew it up!, the caps the dealer installed in florida was unde rated for this amp and they were some cheap after market capacitors!, They said I will hear the fury and real fineese of this amp when I get it back!, Please, some one tell me cheers!, I am getting ready to ride out into the sunset, Ha, Ha, LOL! @ Grey9hound, man, this sucks!, In a few months Happy listening!,Sound Ideas in Gainsville FLorida did this to me!, They did not charge me but shipping back from them!, they did all this to finalize the sale of my amp after I blew it up!, It was one day after the arrival of the amp, so they got nervous that I might want a refund!, I had E-bay protection and pay-pal !!!!,, so they offered to, what I call band-aided the amp to work for free!, that way the sale would be finalized!, I live and learn Dennis!, I should have made them pay to fix it at Krell when I had the chance!, the amp seemed to work when I got it back from them, problems followed very shortly!I can forget getting anything from them!I will likly let them know that I know what they did and what it's costing me now!, that would be the only pleasure I will get!,, Dennis, nearly everything they did they f-up!, Krell has already told me all the details, unless you have a degree, these words would be foreign to you like they are to me!, my wife knows what they mean, she works building electronics!,, BTW,, I have a great ole lady!, she is paying for 90% of all of the amp job!,thats really nice since I paid for the system, It retails the price of a small house!I am beginning to feel sick about all of this audio thing!I can have a very nice new car,4-wheelers,boats, all this and it still would not cost the system retail!Lets hope my pitiful story ends with happiness of music nirvana with my system!,, I would like Happy listening! |

@ Grey9hound,, That Was Jmcgrogan2 that said he was not going to do nothing with his system untill the cold season, waxwaves got a new power cord, another interconnect, a new pre-amp, some resonance control footers for under his digital player, since he has been to your house, waxwaves has done more than all of us put together!, me, All I did was get a new power cord and the amp renewed, I understand about finances, we want be able to do nothing major to the system untill springtime, fall and winter I do not do my lawn businness, so no new toys untill I go back to working 7 days a week for 9 months out of the year,, cheers, good to hear from you. |

Audioman58, Hi, If you was talking to me?, I had a krell 700cx modded and completly renewed at the Krell factory for a pretty penny for sure, the only modds was the newer, better capacitors that was not available in 2005, The amp sounds way better than before, the biggest part of the sound enhancement was the treble does not ever sound brittle like any of the Evolution E amps, I was floored on how natural, extended, life like the total sound is compaired to what I had before, It was like getting a more costly amp so to speak of, cheers. |
