Audio Classics will do a fine restoration of both of these pieces of equipment. They are expensive, but they will work to original specs, and have a huge reputation for fine work. DR
Functional/cosmetic tube amp restoration?
Hi all,
First post here. I have a pair of McIntosh MC225s that I inherited...they sound okay, but in comparison to a friend's system could sound better--and they look hideous. I'd love to take them out from the cabinet in which they've been hiding, but am afraid they might scare my cats.
The question: can anyone recommend a restoration service that will do a full functional restoration AND a full cosmetic restoration on a Mac tube amp. I've done some internet research and have found services that do functional restorations, but not cosmetic, and a place that will do minor cosmetic restorations (and they need more help than that).
Thanks,
John
