Does the Wadia 170i transport work with the iphone

I'm thinking of getting one of these. I have a 16GB iphone 3G and a 80GB ipod video. Will I have any problems running either of these.

I called Wadia about this and they said the iPhone is not an "official" Apple device for the 170i (must be a licensing thing). Quality is very good, approximately CD quality, however, the 170i is only as good as the DA converter you run it through.
